Third person POV

Gon, Killua, and Alluka set forth on a grand journey toward the towering World Tree, its colossal branches reaching into the heavens like nature's own ladder to the divine. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of adventure as the trio traversed through lush forests and meandering rivers, their path leading them to the unknown, driven by the purpose of reuniting with Gon's elusive father.

Gon and Killua began reminiscing about their past adventures, and the name "Rin" emerged like a nostalgic echo.

"Killua, what does Grandpa Gozen mean when he said Rin is still alive?" The weight of the old man's revelation lingered heavily in Gon's mind.

"Beats me. With the way he talks, he probably meant that as long as we remember her, she's alive in our hearts or something. Maybe he's just using a figure of speech, you know, trying to comfort you in his own way." Killua's brow furrowed, a mixture of concern and skepticism etched on his face.

"Don't think too much about it." Gon nodded slowly, attempting to reconcile the fantastical notion with the harsh reality of loss.

"But, if there's a chance--"

"Gon."

Killua's voice rang out with a sternness that cut through the haze of hope clouding Gon's mind. Killua's expression was now resolute, his eyes unwavering.

"Rin's dead. And she's never coming back."

A heaviness settled in Killua's chest, the weight of reality crashing down on him. The memory of the funeral played out vividly in his mind – the somber faces, the tear-streaked cheeks, and the finality of her resting place.

"I'm sorry you couldn't make it to her funeral." Killua averted his gaze.

"I-It's alright..." Gon felt a bittersweet mixture of sorrow and acceptance settling within him as he stared at the ground.

Killua's gaze lingered on Gon, and a deep sadness welled up in his eyes. As he looked at his friend, memories of his somber visit to Rin's columbarium flooded his mind.

'If there was such a thing, I would probably have done it.'

-flashback-

The air within the quiet walls of the columbarium hung heavy with the weight of memories and lingering grief as Killua, accompanied by his little sister, Alluka, ventured into the solemn space.

As Killua and Alluka stood side by side, their hands intertwined, they gazed upon Rin's final resting place. The flickering light of a nearby candle cast a delicate glow, illuminating the emotions etched on Killua's face.

In that poignant moment, Killua tightened his grip on Alluka's hand as he called out for Nanika.

Killua turned to his sister and, with a voice filled with both hope and desperation, asked a question that lingered in the depths of his heart.

"Nanika... Can I ask you a question?"

"Aye."

"Can you... Can you bring someone back to life?"

His sister's eyes, though filled with two black holes, conveyed a solemn truth. Her response hung in the air, a weighty acknowledgment of the irrevocable nature of loss.

-end of flashback-

'Even Nanika who can grant infinite wishes can't bring a person back to life. Now the whole Dragon Ball wish-granting thing sounds far-fetched.'

Killua's gaze softened, and as he looked at Gon, a profound sadness flickered in his eyes. It was a gaze that held the weight of shared sorrow, a poignant connection forged through the trials of loss.
