Rin was finally admitted into one of the hospital's wardroom after Gon had brought her to the nearest hospital. Gon was relieved the moment he heard the doctor said that Rin will be alright but she still required to stay in the hospital for a few more days.
Standing in front of Rin's room, Gon eased the door to her room open slightly and was greeted with the beeping sound from the heart monitor. His nostrils filled with a disinfectant smell while his eyes wandered around the room until it landed on the bed that sits low to the ground.

His heart fell at the sight of Rin laying on the hospital bed. The incident drained too much blood from her that her face right now was very white, so white it could bring the snow to shame. She looked so frail and fragile it reminded him of the Last Phase of the Hunter Exam.
Her soft pinkish lips were now blue. It left Gon to wonder.
'How can she smile with that pale lips of hers? Can she even smile in the first place after all that happened?'
His eyes scanned the treated bruises on her face to her fully bandaged neck. Gon could tell that probably most of her skin was bandaged due to the wounds she received.
An image of Rin being hung on the wall with blood all over her tattered dress flashed in his mind. Gon could only flinch at that thought.
"What could he possibly have done to you...? To make you suffer like this..." Gon gritted his teeth as he averted his gaze to the ground with his fist clenched.
But then his senses were alerted as he heard a shifting sound followed by someone's mumbling. Looking at Rin's frowned eyebrows as she tossed and turned slightly, Gon knew she must've had a nightmare.
Gon inched closer to Rin, hoping he could at least do something to help her but stopped on his track the second he saw the tears trailing down the corner of her eyes.
"...!"
'She's crying in her sleep...?'
Rin continued to toss and turn while mumbling something in between her ragging breath.
Instinctually, Gon's hand reached to her bandaged hand when suddenly he heard her said in a soft broken voice.
"Please...don't leave me..."
Gon's eyes widened as he continued to stare at Rin's face. But her last words made his heart faltered.
"Papa...Mama..."
Gon realized that Rin must've missed her parents so dearly, to be able to dream about them in her sleep.
And so Gon did what he thought he had to do. Intertwining his fingers in hers, he placed his lips on her forehead. Feeling her cold forehead with his trembling lips, he knew he couldn't do much to make things right but this is all he can manage for now.
