CHAPTER 28 -Zoldyck Family-

Third person POV

Somewhere in the Zoldyck estate, footsteps echoed sharply through the dark hallway. At the middle of the hallway, there were two people, one who was a grown woman in a fancy gown and another was a child wearing a traditional black kimono. The two of them finally stopped in front of a wooden door.

"Kalluto-chan, open the door." The woman instructed the girl. (I'm just gonna say that Kalluto is a girl even though she's actually a boy because she looks like a girl if you know what I mean)

Opening the door, the two of them entered a dark room. The only sources of light were the candles around the room. In that dark murky place, was a shirtless silver-haired boy with slashing scars all over his body. He had his head low while his hands were chained to the wall. The boy was none other than Killua Zoldyck.

"Kil, have you learned your lesson yet?" The woman said with a sweet voice.

"It's no use, Mama. He isn't even the least bit sorry. We need to make him suffer more." A fat boy snickered as he stretched his whip.

"Milluki! Shut your mouth!" The woman scolded the fat boy known as Milluki. He scowled in response and turned his head aside.

"Kil, stop being so stubborn and say that you're sorry." The woman said with her sweet voice again but Killua just had his head low not wanting to respond to his mother.

"Oh, right. That friend of yours... Gon, was it?" When his brother mentioned Gon's name, Killua's hand flinched.

"He better off just leave, but it sounds like he wants to try the Testing Gate." Milluki continued.

"Oh, and there's also a girl with him, what was her name again? Ran? Ren?... Rin? Or whatever her name is. The butler said that she was able to open the Testing Gate. Hah! As if someone like her can actually open the gate, it must've been a joke!" He snickered.

"Gon and Rin are here...?" Killua eyes perked up.

"Milluki! You're talking too much!" His mother scolded Milluki again while snapping the fan on her palm.

"Listen to me, Kil..." His mother turned to Killua again.

"You didn't even tell me?!" Killua snapped.

SMACK!

"Don't yell at Mama!" Milluki slashed the whip across his face.

"I told you to shut your mouth!" His mother yelled again.

"I didn't think I needed to tell you, Kil... Since it's impossible for them to open the front gate," she said softly to Killua.

"They'll do it," Killua said.

"What?"

"Gon and Rin will open it." He said again.

"Oh, that's nice. But they'll never make it here..." His mother tried to assure him that his friends will not be able to reach here but Killua knew better than anyone what his friends are capable of.

"They'll do it. They will definitely make it here." He faced his mother with his eyes reflecting his faith in his friends.

In front of the Testing Gate, stood Rin, Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio. They had their eyes traveled up at the enormous gate as they stood in a row. Behind them was Zebro who was observing them. There's also Seaquant who jerked his head out of the window of the security checkpoint just to watch them.

Exhaling his breath, Gon took a step first but was halted by Leorio.

"Wait, Gon, you just watch," Leorio said to Gon.
