"Are you okay!?" Emma asked desperately.
"I'll be fine Emma." Vance shrugged while his burning skin regenerated. "I just need time to recover. " He hissed in pain. what the hell were you even thinking, setting that off while I was nearby!?"
"I'm sorry I'm so sorry!!!" Emma apologized. "We were surrounded I needed to act fast. I wasn't thinking." She hissed. "Wait! Are you wearing the amulet?"
"Yes." Vance pulled out the amulet from under his collar, still worn around his neck. "My ashes would've been among the others without it."
"Why didn't it keep you from being burned!?"
"Apparently the amulet has its limits." Vance growled. "Somewhere between a nice summer's day and the full concentrated power of the sun!"
"I am so sorry!!" Emma grimaced.
"It's all right." Vance grumbled. "At least those vampires won't trouble us again, now let's get out of here! Before Drolta sends more of her attack dogs on us!"
