I wondered if he meant it. That he could be my friend. Even it was something we were just settling for. I mean, its all we could be. It was painfully obvious.
I hoped he meant it. Ever since we came back this year, the division had been clear. A line crossed. To everyone else, it seemed normal. I think its pretty obvious how close we all are, things like this don't usually raise suspicion, but him distancing himself like this, it was odd enough too.
I also couldn't help but wonder what on earth made him ask Astoria to be his girlfriend. Before her, he had never mentioned her before, these were the thoughts that kept me up at night. Maybe, I was the one who had to let it go. Not him. Maybe, I was so blind with Cedric, I had never realized he moved on too, which is good. Really good.
When the sunshine rose through our dark windows, the boys groaned as it was now time for a full week of classes.
