I haven't revived a text from Mattheo, despite our group chat, in two months. TWO MONTHS. We still hung out, made small talk and all of that, but we haven't had a real conversation, or anything in two months.
It was odd. Unlike us. This was the biggest thing I was afraid of over the summer, when we started this whole game. I knew down the line it would affect our friendship, and that was something I never wanted. His friendship wasn't something I ever wanted to gamble. But in the moment, that one summer night, nothing else seemed to have mattered but having him.
And I did. At a cost of course, call me selfish. I think now I would take it all back, if I could. To have the old us back. The sleepovers, the movie nights. It used to be able to be just him and I doing things, going shopping, hanging out, reading, or absolutely nothing at all. Whatever it was, was gone now.
Anthony and I have been better than I ever could've imagined. We were practically inseparable. Theo and Draco took a very large liking to him, as well. If he wasn't with me, he was with one of them.
Everything else continued as normal. As normal as we could be, I guess. I was fine. I had no choice to be.
