Will POV
As he led Nico down the stairs, he couldn't help but feel embarrassed. He almost made the stupid mistake of kissing Nico. He had always played it as though he hated the kid, but that was only because he didn't want to get his feelings crushed. The kid was clearly straight, and even if he wasn't, he was clearly not the one to be into jocks like him.
He took his place at the table, next to his siblings Austin and Kayla. As soon as they finished the food on their plates, they began bombarding Nico with questions.
"So why is your hair long enough to go in your eyes? Are your scissors broken?" Kayla chirped.
"Uh-" was all Nico could muster before he was bombarded again
"Are you a gamer? I've seen people that look like you on the internet" Austin now pressed.
"No, I'm-"
The kids kept interrupting a clearly overwhelmed Nico, and Will couldn't help but laugh. He watched as the brunettes face scrunched as he tried to focus on the rapid Q&A that was unfolding, clearly not knowing what to do. Will didn't want to step in because he found it too funny, that is until Kayla asked-
"Are you gay?"
Will watched as Nico almost spit out his water, clearly not expecting that question. Before Nico could answer, Will excused them both and led them back up to his room. He sat the brunette down on the floor who was still in a slight shock.
"Nico, I'm so sorry. I wasn't expecting them to ask that many questions. And I promise I'll talk to Kayla, I feel so bad that she made you uncomfortable like that, she needs to not be rude and blame people like that" Will nervously rattled.
"It's fine" Nico quietly said with a smile "they're just little kids"
The two sat in awkward silence for a second, trying to recoup from the events of dinner. Suddenly, Nico jumped up, scaring the hell out of Will.
"Shit, what time is it?" Nico asked panicked.
"Uh 10:15, why?"
"Oh for fucks sake, I was supposed to be home at 9. My dad is going to kill me!" Nico cried as he hurriedly stuffed his books back into his backpack.
"Stay the night" Will suggested. the words were out of his mouth before he realized what he said.
