Letters to You

~ I'm no poet but~

I'm no poet but If I were

I'd  write tens and thousands of poems

And yes, all of them would be about you

You're a mesmerizing person

Soft to the touch

I'm no poet but, if I could

I'd write a dozen poems

All of them would be about our love

Id write and write till my fingers give out

For I want the world to know

That it is for you I have a love so devout

I'll love you and love you till the very end

To me, it makes no difference whether you are

A foe or a friend

For if I were a poet I'd write all about you

Savoring our memories together till the very end

As you truly were and are always going to be

My dearest friend

And last but certainly not least

I may not be a poet

But if I were

Id write about a million hymns

All about how you were so caring and kind

For me, you were a god

A person to whom I could

Confess any crime

And so I do the same here once again

I will always hold you in my memory

Yet even so, I still wish to see you, just once

At least for the very last time.
