What exactly makes a great poet?
This has been something I've wondered
A many times
Is it really just as simple as writing a mere few lines
All while making sure at least a few stanzas rhyme?
Is that truly all that it takes?
For someone to write line by line
Is writing a poem as easy as people make it seem?
I'll have myself Answer the question for you
No
Poetry takes precision and a certain way of words
Yet even so, there are many different ways a poet can write a good verse
So what is it exactly that makes a great poet
If not for the topic or form of writing?
It is the way the poet loves his art in ways no one but another artist could truly appreciate
Yet despite this fact, even normal people would resonate with their art
For what makes a greater poet than the purpose of his art
Which is to have each verse reach deep inside the reader's heart
