It had been several months since you'd last seen your mother and you were quite happy when you landed in Beijing and found her waiting for you at the baggage claim which was a welcome surprise. You hugged her and cried a little as she looked well but still not completely like she was okay and on the limo ride back to her place you had discussed how she was being treated and how everything was going. She and Zhou were great tho she admitted she needed to have a bit more quiet then the city and the sprawling loft house they lived in afforded her and so you were being taken to a little remote area twenty miles from the city where Zhou converted a old movie studio into a full blown house. This place was massive and it took nearly two full hours for your mom to show you the damn place.

You eventually had lunch and asked where Zhou was as you knew you needed to get business taken care of but she told you you'd have to meet him in Hong Kong as he was doing deals and working on a film while trying to ease some tensions between the nation and Hong Kong's still very upset residents. You talked about work and the business and she was happy to hear about the gains being made with Danica on board and didn't see Zhou giving you much issue was admittedly a relief. She asked how everyone was and you told her about Noelle and her husband and how him and your stories are strange similarities which made you both laugh as you lunch turned to dinner quickly as you always lost track of time. She set you up in a guest room that was damn bigger than your living room and theater room combined and you FaceTimed with some of the ladies to show off just the room while you struggled to fall asleep as you were just wide awake from being around mom, though she was admittedly putting on a brave face. You watched a movie then listened to a podcast before finally succumbing to sleep.

One of the helpers woke you up and showed you to the bathroom as you showered and dressed nicely as you made sure the paperwork Eliza sent over was contractually binding as your mom had breakfast made up with some other helpers and was showing off how much Cantonese she was learning. You are and talked about life and plans and how she was doing with her sickness which she dodged a bit but ultimately said the remission was good but she wasn't sure it would stay, something you figured but knew she was getting really great care.
