The morning period went by so fast. I love that the other teachers were informed about me and they didnt force me to go to the front and tell everyone about myself. Maybe just maybe this will not be a bad school.
I am packing up my books to take them to the locker when i feel a tap on my shoulder. I glance back and Tumisang is standing not far from me, "You sitting at our table" She says with a wide grin.
"That's what i already told him, just leave the books under the desk man no one will take them"
We used to think the same thing at my old school, had to learn the hard way, "I will be quick"
"What kind of school do you think this is?" Shane's friend asks
"No i will be okay with them being in my locker"
Shane's friend laughs, "I don't know why you guys want him to join us" I ignore him and leave the class.
....
The cafeteria is too nice, something out of those TV private school. I guess the parents pay a lot of money to have their kids eat in a decent cafeteria. Back in Ghetto we had a good cafeteria but it was nowhere close to this.
"This looks cool"
Shane glances at me, "They serve the best food"
"This will probably be your first time eating ..."
"Pako come on, dude goes to school here how will it be his first time eating good food" Tumie glances ta me and smiles, i am about to return the smile but then i remember dad's words.
We get to the table at the center of the cafeteria. They are the popular kids and i take it they want to be the center of attraction.
The table has about three girls seated on the same side, and two guys watching a video on the phone.
"Who is that?" one of the girls ask and the two guys stare at us
"This is our new classmate and i thought he was so cool and he could sit with us. He also plays football"
"We have a full squad, we don't need a new kid" I take it he must be the captain of the school team
"Come on Tumo, just let him try out and then judge him from there" Tumisang says making her way to the girls
"Nah we good" he is cutting me out quick
"What are you scared of man?" Shane asks
"Let him try out, he will probably be embrassed" Pako utters joining everyone on the table
"I bet he will surprise you" I love that Shane has faith in me
"Will see" Tumo says
We all settle down and i notice Tumisang going to sit next to the guy who was with Tumo when we walked in and by the looks of it he is her boyfriend. There goes the little hope i had but maybe it is for the good.
I end up sitting down next to Shane.
....
"My friends are great right?" Shane and i are making our way back to class
"Still getting to know them" Tumisang's boyfriend is Aiden, Tumo is her brother. The three girls are Saone, Kesego and Yaone. Kesego is Tumisang's bestfriend and Tumo's girlfriend. Yaone is Pako's girlfriend which leaves Saone and Shane single.
"You are going to love it here" He says comfortably
"How come you and Saone are the only single ones in the group"
"Saone's boyfriend is in college, she says that she doesnt date high school boys and i am not single, my girl just sits with her friends"
"Oh you did say you were going to see a girl in the morning"
He nods, "You heard me well, if you need any girl i could hook you up with someone"
I shake my head, "I am honestly not looking"
"Left a girl at your old school?"
"Yeah" It is better to lie than tell the truth.
