End of July - Beginning August 2023

POV: Riley

We are officially in California. Eight more shows and I am free. I am not going to lie, the past few weeks have been hell. Especially after I heard one of the Kansas City Chiefs players had been talking about Taylor.

Apparently he was at the July 8th show and made her a friendship bracelet with his number on it, but she wouldn't meet him, as he said on his podcast, cause she had to save her voice. From what I have heard from some of the others, after the podcast, Tree had reached out to his publicist and made contact.

Gotta say, that felt like a slap in the face. From what I heard, Taylor had been texting him the past few days, and they are “getting to know one another”. Is it August 9th yet?

POV: Tree

“Taylor, what are you doing?”

“What, we are just texting Tree, he is a super nice guy, and we have a lot in common,” she said, smiling at her phone.

I just shook my head watching her. She had told me what happened with Riley, and I am going to be honest, if I was Riley, I would have run for the hills, but I have to admire her work ethic. She had been nothing but professional and acted like nothing has changed.

I looked over and saw her with Mandy, and they appeared to be having a heated discussion about something. I saw Riley shake her head, before walking away.

“Everything ok over there,” I asked, looking at Mandy.

“Oh yeah, all good. Riley and Kam are working on something. One of the guys had sprained his groin and can't dance tonight, so Riley is dancing in his place,” she said smiling. “Listen, I have to go make sure they don't change anything. I will catch up with you later,” she said walking off.

“Taylor, you have two hours,” I said, as she nodded at me. I left to go make sure everything was running smoothly.

POV: Riley

One of Taylor's dancers had strained his groin and wasn't going to be about to dance tonight, so Mandy had asked me to do it. I knew all the routines, so it wasn't a problem. Was I thrilled about having to be that close to her? Not really. Alas, the show must go on.

POV: Taylor

The last few days have been extremely awkward. Especially with Riley dancing in the show. We still talk and she still treats me like I am her best friend, but something is bothering her. We are nearing the end of this leg of the tour, and honestly, I am ready for a break. I am supposed to fly out next week and meet Travis face to face. He even said we could stay at his place so we could fly under the radar.

I really like talking to him. He is such a sweet guy. I don't want to rush anything, but I do want to see if we have a connection.

Tonight is the last night, and all my friends are in the VIP tent as well as Riley's friends. I saw Scarlett and Rose earlier, and Rose waved to me. She is such a sweet little girl. I do hope she gets along with Blake's girls. I can't wait to sit down with all my friends and have a glass of wine. I have missed my wine.

POV: Scarlett

When Riley had called me a month ago and told me what happened with Taylor, I wanted to throttle her, but Lizzie pointed out to me that Riley was a big girl and could handle herself.
