6 months ago, Deans POV-

"You can't save everyone"

I shook my head as tears pooled out of my eyes, I looked up to Sam, his face as white as a ghost. "Faith?" He said quietly and I turned back to look at her. Her eyes were closed again, she had a deep cut on her forehead, blood covered her chin all the way down to her neck, it was hard to tell what she had spat up from what had come from the vampire bite. "Faith?" I shook her to wake her but she didn't move. "Faith, help is here, I can hear them." I shook her again but she didn't wake, I took a deep breath in and placed my head near hers, listening for breathing sounds. "FAITH!" I shook her more aggressively. "Sam, Sam she's not breathing!" I looked up to my brother, the image of him blurry through the tears in my eyes. "No, no, no, no. Not like this, no." I leant my head into her chest, burying it. This wasn't fair, I'd just got Sam back, I couldn't lose Faith too. In a few months time I was going to die, I had been counting on the fact that Sam and Faith would have each other through that. Sam reached down and touched my shoulder, he still looked stunned, almost catatonic.

"Gordon." I said, he frowned at me and I wiped my face and pointed over to Gordon's body. Sam nodded and rushed over to move the body before the EMT's arrived.

I looked back at Faith, shaking my head, my lip quivering. I tucked a piece of her chocolate hair behind her ear, shaking her again gently. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry Faith." I gently took her off my lap, laying her flat and then starting compressions on her chest. I wasn't going to stop trying.

The doors burst open and two men walked in with a gurney. I looked up to them and their eyes widened, there was so much blood.

"Sir, step aside."

I didn't listen, I continued pressing on her chest. I was pressing so hard that I could hear her ribs snapping inside, but that was a good thing. She'd taught me that, one night after a case, we'd done some training and afterwards she wanted to play teacher. She showed Sam and I better ways to stitch up wounds, to do CPR.

"Sir please-"

"NO!" I concentrated on her, she couldn't die. I wouldn't let her, I didn't have another soul to sell so I had to bring her back. "Dean, they need to get there, they have the right equipment." Sam grabbed me, I tried to shrug him off but he pulled me hard. The EMT's rushed to her side, they ripped open her shirt and attached some pads to her chest, her body jumped with very shock.

Sam held me as the pair of us stared, wide eyed.

"Charge...." She jumped once more and I heard a beeping coming from one of the machines. "We've got a sinus tach. Get her on the gurney."

The EMT's lifted her onto the gurney, and one of them began to wheel her out as the other walked over to Sam and I.

"What happened here today?"

I shook my head. "She- she was attacked."

"And the attacker?"

"He's gone." Sam said bluntly. "Is she... Is she okay?"

The EMT sighed. "We've brought her back, we'll do everything we can to keep her alive until we get to the hospital."

All the words were just a blur as I barged past him to follow her to the ambulance. I wasn't going to leave her side, not until I knew she was okay.

"Take the car." I threw my keys on the floor for Sam and jumped straight into the back of the ambulance. Faith now had a mask over her mouth, and the EMT was squeezing a bag, his eyes glued to her STAT's on the screen. "Can I?" I asked reaching out for her hand, he nodded and I squeezed. "You're going to be okay."
