"Taeri, I know, but if people do find out? Imagine if Mingho finds out? What then? I'll be fucking dea-"

"I expect a call later saying that you're dating him actually, I'm hanging up first, see you!!" Taeri hung up exactly right after her last word.

I stared at my phone, wondering if she actually hung up like that. I blinked blankly, staring at the screen.

Wow, no way she did that.

I let out a sigh, placing my hands on my lap as I looked around the room.

Maybe I should just keep it on the low with Jake, although it's not ideal for me, it's the most I can probably go in my situation.

It's better than just being friends on the verge of dating. I suppose that would suck more.

A short knock cut me out of my daze, and from the small gap of my door opening, Jake peered his head out, staring at me with that sweet smile of his.

Damn, now that is a face I would love to see everyday when I come home.

"I've made them, come try." Jake smiled, waiting for me to come and follow him.

I stood up, heading out of the room and following behind to the living room. I sat on the sofa, beside him as he brought chopsticks up to my plate, placing a few slices onto my plate.

Yeong found his way up on the sofa too, sitting beside Jake, and not me. Wow. Even my own cat doesn't approve of me.

I brought the food up to my mouth, taking a bite and chewing. I turned my head to look at Jake, who just wanted to know what I thought.

I nodded my head, damn, this was good as hell. ((omg fr guys if you literally havent tried kimchi jeon you are living under a rock holy shit anything -jeon is so good))

"Oh my god, I've not had these since my trainee days." I started to eat them more comfortably, indulging in this nostalgic delicacy that brought only good memories of childhood.

"Really? The hell are you eating on the regular then?" Jake inquired, but I was too busy stuffing my face with the food settled on the table.

Now this was truly paradise.

"I don't even know, a piece of grilled chicken and like, vegetables?" I shrugged, not even wanting to care about what Mingho would say about me eating things like these.

Jake put his chopsticks down, turning to look at me, a serious concern written on his face.

"Haerin, can't you seriously move companies or something? I mean, this is just, crazy." Jake shook his head, a slight hint of frustration coming off his words.

"I wish." I gave a small laugh at his words, "You should know better than anyone else that it doesn't work like that." I stared at him in his eyes, and that was a grave mistake.

The sparkles in his eyes, the pure look on his face, the sweetness of his smile. This whole man was just the definition of joy.

And the way he talks to me? Cares? I feel like I'm turning down the greatest gift ever given to me right now.

Once again, the familiar reoccurring beating of my heart, just from simply looking at him.

"Ah, Haerin." Jake gave a sigh, his eyes just darting from facial feature to facial feature on me, "Let me know when you're ready to be my girlfriend, because I don't want to keep kissing you as friends."

As he said that, he stood up, taking the empty plates.

"I'm going to work on some songs, I'll be in my studio, if you need me, just come in." He flashed me a smile as if he didn't just completely make my internal organs stop functioning.

I just watched as he disappeared out of the room, leaving me dazed and in a frenzy of quick-tempoed heart beating.

I swallowed hard, slowly standing up and heading out of the room. A door slammed shut, which I assumed was the one to his studio.

I passed by his studio, and just looked at the closed door.

You think I still wanna be kissing as friends right now? Getting into a relationship as an idol is easier said than done.

Nonetheless, in a state of conflicted thoughts, I head to my room, flinging myself onto the bed. My face was straight in the soft material of the duvet, just completely confused and unsure of what I should even do.

So, what better option would there to be but call up one of my members to harass again?

I lift my head up, grabbing my phone and facetiming for none other, but Taeri herself. It took a few seconds for her to pick up, but eventually she did.

"What, are you actually dating Jake now? Or should I hang up?" Taeri grinned eagerly, and I just gave a smile, shaking my head.

"No, I really don't know Taeri.." I groaned lightly, and she just rolled her eyes.

"I'm hanging up, by-"

"No!! Wait! Waaaiit!" I laughed, trying to stop her from hanging up on me. Right now, she was the only moral support I had.
