Chapter Sixteen-A Long way back

Elizabeth POV

We could see a road blockade ahead closing one of the roads off, there was a cop car and a plain black car next to it, two men dressed as cops, another man in a long coat.

"Isn't that the police, we should be OK?"

"They're not human their werewolves, we can't trust them, not sure what to do if they search the camper?"

"Alex change places with Willis, everyone else hide the best you can OK?"

They will not search a human camper or suspect hopefully?

"Don't worry Taylor, nothing bad is going to happen, don't cry, I will come back and look after you OK" Alex moved away from Taylor and sat by me

Taylor nodded to say she wouldn't cry.

everyone hid the best they could, in cupboards, under the pull-out beds, not to be seen. One of the cops stopped waved me across. I wound my window down, and decided to put an American accent on, worried if my accent would give me away.

"Hi officer, what's happening" I gave a big fake smile and tried to put an American accent the best I could

"Well hello there, what's your name?" the first cop asked

I looked at the officer, he was a tall muscular build man not someone you want to mess with, the other officer looked just as scary, he had a scar on his left side of his face.

"My name is Tammy, what's yours" I try to cover up my worrying and tried flirting

"You should be called beautiful and nothing else?" he replied

"Oh please, stop it we have a job to do? alright missy the road Towards Fall Creek is closed you must use the road to Idaho?" the man with the scar wasn't happy with our conversation

The man in the long coat, who looked around in his fifties, grey hair and dark glasses, he had this darkness about him that I took an instant dislike to him

"Why are you letting this camper van go?"

I thought we might have got away with it.

The first man stood by the side of me while the man with a scar walked around and looked at Alex.

"You're travelling just you and a boy"

"That's my son, I always wanted to come here and camp out, were on our way to get more supplies, Idaho sounds good to me, if that's all I should be making a move"

"No need to look in there, just two humans" the man with a scar whispered to the one with the long coat

"OK, have a safe journey" the first cop says

"Bye" I waved to look oblivious to what was going on

I drove off as soon as it was clear Alex moved to the back and looked after Taylor, Willis came back to the front, while everyone else went back to their original position's.

"That was a close one?"

"You did well" Willis looked proud

"Yeah Mom, or should we call you Tammy" Nia laughed

"The flirting Mom" Alex scrunched his face

"The accent was the worse" Antonio laughed, then everyone else joined in

"Have you all had enough mocking me"

I smiled at them all

Willis looked at the map to see if we could find a way home on this route.
