It was very rare that Lena would visit my office. Work consumed both of us but we always made time for each other.

Today was one of those rare days where Lena decided to come to my job and finish up work in my office.

I could tell she was getting bored. She closed her laptop with a sigh but I didn't pay it any mind. I had deadlines to meet today and she knew that.

I continued my work and she was content for the next ten minutes until she drug out another sigh.

"Love" she called. I hummed signaling her to continue. "Can you take a small break?" "Soon" I mumbled dismissing what she said.

"Y/n" she said sternly. "I really have to make sure all of this is complete by the end of the day Lena" I spoke softly.

Before I knew it she was standing beside me. She closed my laptop and gave me a stare.

"Lena! Come on I have to finish" I said opening it back up. "Y/n I've been very patient waiting for you. I get you have a deadline but you can't put aside ten minutes to pay attention to me?" "If you would just let me finish this then I could give you my attention for more than ten minutes" I reasoned. "Okay but I'm getting bored. I can't believe you used to just sit and wait for me at my office." "Yeah now you know how I feel" I said as I went back to working on what I was doing.

"Okay don't get smart" she said rolling her eyes. "I promise if you let me get this done you will have my attention for the rest of the night. Don't you have work you could be doing?" "I don't feel like doing it right now. I want you to pay attention to me." "Lena why are you acting like I'm neglecting you?" "You have until four o'clock" she groaned as she went to sit back down.

"It's literally almost fifteen minutes before four." "Then work fast" she said as she went on her phone.

I finished my typing my last email and gathered my things.

"Are you done?" "Mhm."

After that I noticed that Lena would pop up at my office more and more throughout the whole month. I didn't mind but I thought it was odd. I didn't exactly know how to ask her what's wrong so I just haven't. I don't want her to think that I don't want her here.

She was doing work on the couch in my office while I was at my desk.

I heard a knock at my door and called for them to come in.

I noticed Lena didn't pay attention until the girl walked in.

"Ms. Y/l/n did you want me to grab anything for lunch?" "No thank you. My wife got me something" I said with a smile. "Okay. A few of us are going to that place down the street if you would like anything just let me know" she said before leaving the room.

"Ms. Y/l/n" Lena pointed out. "Lena we hyphenated our names" I reminded her.

"That's not your assistant" she spoke disregarding what I just said. "It's a new hire. But you've seen her before she's been here for like a month. What's the problem now?" She shrugged her shoulders and went back to what she was doing but I could tell she was bothered.

I fought the urge to ask her but went back to what I was doing. I knew she would be stubborn if I asked and I couldn't afford to be distracted right now.

Throughout the rest of the day the new girl kept popping in. It was all work related but she was definitely asking self explanatory questions. I know she just wanted to talk to me because I didn't hire someone so stupid.

But finally the day ended. Lena and I went home and we both agreed on not doing anything work related for the weekend.

We were in the middle of watching a movie when my phone went off.

I saw Lena take a glance at my phone as I answered the call.

"Ms. Y/l/n I-" "I'm sorry but if this is work related it will have to wait until Monday. If it is something urgent you can talk to Gabby. She's equipped to handle everything" I said cutting her off. "I'm so sorry I-" "It's okay. I will see you Monday" I said cutting her off again. I hung up the phone and looked at Lena.

The movie was now paused and she had a pissed off look on her face. "It was just work. Why do you have that face?" "No it was that girl." "Well yes. She works for me" I joked. "Okay Y/n" she said with an attitude.

"Oh come on I was just joking. And you heard me talk to her. I didn't even let her get a full sentence out." "I just want to know why she even felt comfortable enough to call you this late?" "I don't know. What is wrong Lena? You've been acting weird." "No I haven't. What are you talking about?"

"You've been at my office more recently. You get mad any time that girl speaks to me. You-" I stopped talking and realized what was happening.

"What?" I couldn't help my growing smile as I realized what was wrong. "You're jealous" I stated. "No I'm not." "Yes you are. Ever since I've hired that girl you've been at my office almost every day. You get annoyed any time she says something to me, or when she texts, or calls. That's why you got mad when she called me by my last name."

"I don't know what you're even talking about."

It was very rare for Lena to get jealous. She usually didn't because I always wanted to be near her and she knew that. I always told her that. She knew how much I missed her when she left for work. She knew how much I loved her so there was just no reason for her to be.

I gave her a look letting her know that she wasn't fooling me.

"It's okay that you're jealous Lena. I just don't understand why. What is it?" "She obviously has a crush on you. She thinks she has a chance with you and it bothers me. And the way she says your name bothers me. None of your staff calls you by your last name yet she does. I feel like she's doing it on purpose."

"She's just saying my last name Lena. You can't be mad at that. I told you I wanted your last name and you insisted that I shouldn't take it. It took forever just for you to even agree on hyphenating it. You know you just have to say the word and I will change it. You know I want your last name. And you don't have to be jealous. You know she's jealous of you right? I know she has a crush on me. Almost all of my employees told me. I just don't pay it any mind because she's not you. She's jealous because she wants to be you."

"We're getting your last name changed" she mumbled. I grew a wide smile as I chuckled at her.

I moved to straddle her legs before I wrapped my arms around her neck. Her hands grabbed the back of my thighs.

"I've been waiting so long for you to say that."

"I'm sorry for how I was acting. But that girl needs to watch herself." "It's okay. You didn't do anything wrong. And she's not anything to worry about. She is a good worker but she is really annoying to talk to." "Good."
