Chapter 2 - Honestly? Fairytales?
(Edited)
At that moment, it seemed like my heart skipped a beat as I looked at my screen, shocked. My heart drummed against my chest as I felt my throat dry up. Wake up Myra. I quickly snapped out the trance and realised that I was feeling nervous to open the inbox message. Why was I feeling like this? I asked myself.
Was it fate? It might be; I answered my inner self. It can't be a coincidence that one moment I was intrigued with his profile and the next moment I was about to message him but he in return messaged me. It must be fate!
Okay, Myra calm down! You're getting ahead of yourself here. I took a deep breath in and out to calm myself down. Just click on the message, I told myself. I double clicked on the envelope icon and waited for the message to appear. I'm sure it only took few seconds but for me it felt like years. Why was I behaving like this over one stupid message? It opened up after my agonising wait.

You believe in fairytales? Honestly? Are you 5 or something? If so, I'm sorry to burst your bubble but fairytales don't exist :) Just thought I would help you out ...no need to thank me...at all. You're welcome.

I re-read the message twice to make sure I didn't misread it. I felt anger surge through my body. How dare he patronise me! What is wrong in believing in fairytales? Okay I know that the whole concept of a prince galloping in on a white horse to save me from an evil witch and we would fall deeply in love, isn't exactly something to put your money on. I definitely don't believe in 'the happy ever after,' but I believe in true love and I am sure my soul mate will come into my life very soon. I just know it.
"What's got you frowning?" Sally asked as she jumped onto the sofa next to me which caused me to snap out of my bubble.
"Read this." I gave her the laptop.
Yep. She cracked up laughing as soon as she read it.
"Sally!" I whined feeling hurt she was laughing at something I believed in.
"Sorry but that was funny."
"Oh whatever," I said annoyed as I snatched the laptop off her and hit 'reply'.

Excuse me for dreaming! At least I know how to dream unlike you...and for your information I am 22 not 5 so don't get too happy....although you do seem like a man who is attracted to 5 years old children.

I hit 'send.' I was so angry that I wrote the first thing that came into my mind. Maybe I was too harsh but honestly, he asked for it. I instantly got a message back. I clicked on the icon to read his reply.
To: MD
Are you referring to me as a paedophile?? Ooo I must have hit a soft spot :P and for your information I know how to dream, but realistically.
From: Chris
As soon as I read the message, I hit 'reply' and got straight into replying back to his comeback.
To: Chris
Yes I am referring to you as a paedophile...Oooo sorry did I hurt your feelings :P
Wow you dream realistically, how interesting (If your too dumb to understand, I'm being sarcastic)
A dream is about going beyond reality, where the unexpected is expected. It's where you can reverie your every desire because a dream doesn't have boundaries.
From MD
I smiled at my response and sent the message. I logged off of my laptop, thinking I'll check his reply later on.
"Are you done messaging lover boy?" teased Sally.
"He is not a lover boy; he's just an arrogant man." I said angrily. How can she associate him as lover boy?
"Whatever, let's have a movie marathon." She said excitedly.
I smiled widely. "Heck yeah, I'll get the popcorn and drinks while you choose the movie." I said as I made my way to the kitchen. I turned around as I walked backwards. "Make sure it's a chick flick." I said and turned around to get the snacks.
