Chapter 7- Handsome Stranger
(Edited)
I was currently back combing my hair to give it more volume when Sally walked in all dressed up. Her beautiful hair was flowing down in beautiful waves as she stood behind me in her short red dress. I couldn’t help but think of the typical assumption made about women in clubs, in red dresses who were known as little devils. I never knew where that idea had come from but from the glint in her eyes and the little smirk playing on her lips, I think I got my answer. She did look like a devil in a short red dress.
“Wow,” she commented as she gazed down at my outfit. “Is it too much?” I asked as I put the comb down and looked at her expression from the mirror, I was not sure if I overdid it.
“No, you look great for someone who didn't want to go out tonight.” The small smirk that was playing on her lips before had turned into a full one.
“Yeah, well I thought I might as well dazzle up if I'm going out,” I answered innocently.
“Are you done?” Sally asked.
“Yeah, just give me a minute.” I said as I picked up the hairspray and sprayed it to make sure my hair would stay in place during the night.
I looked at my reflection in the full length mirror to see if I was missing anything. I stared at my reflection, happy with the outcome. The dress I was wearing was perfect, it came up to my mid-thigh, the top half was a coral colour with laced material and thin straps over my shoulder, whereas from the waist down was a plain black material which hung tight to my body giving a sexy look. As for my footwear, I chose to wear coral coloured high heels to match my outfit. I quickly swiped some pink lipstick to add colour to my face since I decided to go for a natural look. I moved my curled hair with a swipe of my hand, to my back. I turned around to face Sally, “I'm ready!” I said with a wide smile as I picked up my clutch and made my way out of the room.
The cold air hit us like a ton of bricks as we made our way to the taxi, I clutched my jacket around me tightly, mentally patting myself on the back for deciding to wear a Jacket. I slid in the back of the taxi with Sally as we called up our friends, deciding where we should to go. After 5 minutes they decided to meet up at Liberty’s, well, I had no choice in the matter. Liberty's was known as the biggest and greatest club in town, it was really hard to get into clubs like these with quite a few V.I.Ps attending them. I wasn't sure why they chose to go there, when we all know we would not get in; for instance we did try when we were all at university but failed miserably. As soon as we got out of the taxi, I could see a long line of people waiting to get in. I grimaced at Sally who knew instantly what I would say. “Don't worry Myra, we’ll get in,” she assured me.
“Yeah, with all these people waiting to get in,” I retorted back, but before she could reply, our mates showed up. I instantly ran up to Leah and hugged her tightly. At University she was the first person I got along well with when I first started since then, we were great friends. I pulled out from the tight hug and looked into her honey gold eyes, “I missed you so much,” I said to her honestly.
She smiled back revealing her perfect white teeth, “I missed you too.”
