Chapter 22- The End of Grudges
(Edited)
I was lost in my thoughts as I was brushing my hair into place. The only thing that kept occurring was the moment between Ethan and I and my mind kept chanting 'I was such a fool.' I shook away the thoughts and tried to concentrate on my current task, I clipped my hair to one side letting few hair strands fall around my delicate face.
"Oooh you're looking nice." Stated Holly.
I looked into the mirror to see Holly standing at my doorway, I caught her eye and gave a smile. "Are you off on a date?" Smirked Holly.
"I wouldn't really call it a date merely meeting someone." I said as I picked up my bracelet to wear.
"Oh good, cause I was thinking that outfit for a date. It's too casual." She scrunched her nose.
"I know." I rolled my eyes at her remark.
I walked into the living room to see Leah and Sally engrossed in watching the television. "Ladies I'm going out for a bit." I stated before making my way to the door only to be stopped by Sally.
"Wait....wait where you going?" She asked as she came in front of me.
I rolled my eyes, "Do I need to ask for permission before I go out?" I asked annoyed.
She looked away, "No I just wanted to know so I won't be worried about you." She muttered.
I instantly felt bad, "I'm sorry, I just had a really bad couple of days and I'm taking it out on you."
"Why? What happened?"
"I'll narrow it to one word......Ethan."
"ETHAN.....YOU MEAN ETHAN COLE." Shrieked Holly and ran towards me excited.
"Yes." I answered as she grabbed my arms and jumped around the spot excitedly.
"How could you have a bad day with that hottie around?" Said Holly in a daze.
"Trust me, you can." I retorted.
"But..." Holly started to answer me but Sally interrupted her.
"Enough Holly, so where are you going?"
"You're no fun." Muttered Holly under her breath.
"I'm off to see Chris."
"Chris?" Asked Sally shocked.
"Yes Chris."
"And you're wearing this to your second date." She looked down at my orange mix stitch cropped jumper which I underlined with my white vest and my mid blue denim jeans. From her expression I could see she was admiring my nude coloured peep toe heels.
"No it's not a second date we just meeting up just to have a chat."
"Okay, have fun." She winked at me and pushed me out the doorway eagerly.
I sat in the taxi looking out at the world that buzzed by me in a blur. I could see many people rushing about, some may be meeting their friends for a relaxing drink on a Friday night some may be running home for some peace and quiet. Every individual had their own little destination to get to, like me as I thought about Chris. I felt nervous thinking about seeing him after our last encounter I honestly wouldn't know how to approach him. But what I really pondered about was my main overall destination, I knew where I wanted to be in terms of my career but who would be there for me when I'm at that place in my life. Who would be there for me every step of the way? Is there a chance that it could be Chris or Ethan?
