PoV Cole
I wasn't in good shape, because I was still really mad at Kai. We had a bad fight yesterday and almost broke up, but he just walked out on me.

I thought if I slept over it, everything would be alright in the morning, but I was still mad.

“Uhm, Cole? Can we talk?”, the man in question suddenly asked, fidgeting with his sleeve.

We were on that fucking flying ship, on our way to fight some underground demons that had taken over a monastery in the south.

“About what?”, I asked coldly. Kai looked away. Did he feel guilty? No. That was Kai I was thinking about.

The most selfish creature on this whole planet.

“Cole, please. I'm sorry.”, he sighed, but I wasn't having it this time, so I replied: “Your apologies are of no worth. You always so sorry, but never change a thing.”

“Guys, we need to get ready!”, Jay suddenly called out.

I glared at my boyfriend one last time, before going inside.

PoV Lloyd
Inside of the cursed monastery, we split up to search for the demons. That was a mistake. They were expecting us.

The moment I realized, I grabbed my sword and got into a battle stance, shouting commands to the others over our earbuds.

The fight grew more dangerous with every hit. I tried hard to fight them off with all my strength, but there were so many!

I slid backwards, the wall was getting closer! Suddenly, I tripped. I closed my eyes, silently saying my goodbyes, when suddenly, I heard metal hit metal.

“You okay there?”, I heard Kai ask.

“Yeah, I'm alright.”, I grunted.

“Good. In that case GET UP AND FIGHT!”, he yelled. Of course!

Kai and I fought the monsters side by side. The others would be here soon to help us.

I was exhausted from days of hard work. We were in no condition to be in a fight like this.

“GET OUT!”, I yelled to my Ninjas.

Just a second. A tiny moment. My attention slipped. I was hit hard and fell to the floor. My head hit the wall hard. Fuck.

FUCK! I CAN'T DIE HERE!

Just as I lost consciousness, a loud scream echoed through my head. Was that mine?

Black.

PoV Cole
Every second counted, every little movement was crucial. Suddenly, I heard steps. Someone was running towards us. Were we surrounded?!

“LLOYD! KAI!”, Nya cried out. I let out a shaky breath. Kai was running towards us, Lloyd in his arms. The blond was covered in blood!

“Damn it!”, Jay cursed. Kai looked around. He looked frightened, but I didn't really care right now. Lloyd obviously needed medical attention!

“RUN!”, Kai screamed at us. I took Lloyd from his arms quickly.

I ran as fast as I could, while the others fought the demons off. Towards the exit! I could see the light of day!

“KAI, HURRY UP!”, Jay suddenly yelled. I looked behind me for a second. Kai was falling behind, holding his side.

“THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO LOSE YOUR BREATH!”, I shouted at him. The exit! Almost there.
