*Clyde's POV*
"What happened to her?" Michael asked nervously as he played with his lips with his hands.
"She's uhh.." I looked away trying to find the lies to say
"Is she having a miscarriage?" Michael said in silence suddenly realizing the facts around him
"no.. Yes." I said and sighed
"That mother-" He was about to stand but I held his arms and stopped him from going
"Where are you going?" I asked
"To the father of the child."
We were cut off when a doctor got out of the emergency room
"Fortunately the embryos are safe, but unfortunately one of them got miscarried."
"What?" Both Luke and I asked confused.
"Your friend was supposedly having a triplets, but since one of them got miscarried she's now only going to have twins." He said with a sad look on her face
"who's the father?" He looked on both of us
"I am." said Michael
"My sincere condolences." The doctor said and tapped his shoulder
"Is she awake?" Michael asked
"Maybe a few hours more before she wakes up, but I suggest you guys stay with her until she gains consciousness." He said and left
"You heard him, we should stay with her until she wakes up, and I don't think it's yours to tell others about what's happened." I said as he calmed his self down and nodded.
After hours of shifting duty on watching over Alex she finally started to open her eyes.
"My baby." She whispered weakly through her pale lips.
"Hey Alex." Michael immediately went over her and held her hand
"Michael?" She looked nervous and looked away
"I already know." He said as tears well up his eyes
"Michael.. I-" Alex tried to talk but all she did was cry
"It's okay.." He said and managed a smile even though his eyes were full of hurt
I cleared my throat and walked towards them
"Alex about your baby." I started
"What's with my baby?" She said and tried to sit up but failed
"It's fine but"
"But what?"
"You had one miscarriage." I said as sympathetic as I could
"Wha-What, it's not fine.. I- My baby." She sobbed harder and cried aloud
"Alex, Calm down.." Michael and I tried to calm her down but she just cried
When she finally stopped, but still quiet and shocked
"You still have a baby on your womb, actually they're babies." I said and gave her an encouraging smile
And with that she looked at me and Michael with hope in her eyes
"What? I don't understand?" She slowly sat up suddenly interested in what we're saying
"Supposedly you were to have a triplets, but fortunately.. at least.. a twins survived.. but the other one.. got miscarried" I said and she sunk back on her bed
