"I'm getting you away from this mess, you need to have fun," he says, driving off.

"Where are we gonna go," she asks, giggling.

"I don't know, anywhere you wanna go I guess."

She smiles, "how about about the Hollywood sign."

"Okay, but, that'll take us a few days. He stops the car, they're at his house.

"So, we should get plane tickets first," she says getting out of the car.

"Or... we could run," he smirks down at her.

"Wai-" Damon picks her up and vampire speeds off toward Hollywood.

She has wrapped her arm around his neck for support, she buries her face in his chest and squeezes her eyes shut. She can literally feel the coldness of the air on her skin, she feels goosebumps all over her body.

"Are you gonna get down," he asks.

She looks up. She hadn't even realized he had stopped. She slowly eases out of his arms.

"Are you okay," he asks, putting a hand on her waist.

"Just wait for my insides to catch up with me," she breathes.

He chuckles.

After a few seconds of slow breathes, she starts to feel okay. "Okay, they're here, now we can leave," she stands up straight.

He picks her up again. Before she can protest, he's already speeding away. They make it to the Hollywood sign in 5 seconds. Kat counted.

He drops her, "thanks," she says sarcastically.

"You're welcome," he says innocently.

She rolls her eyes at him, but unable to hide the smile on her face. She has always wanted to go to the Hollywood sign, and now she's here. How do you thank someone for something you have wanted your whole life?

"Maybe we should get a closer look," he says, wrapping his arms around her waist from behind.

"Yeah," she smiles, "that would be nice."

Then, she feels herself go up into the air. She doesn't scream or close her eyes, she just holds her breath. When they're back on the ground, they're on the other side of the fence that was separating them from the actual sign.

"See," he says, letting go of her.

"We should go to the top," she says beaming.

"No, that's too far," he says, sitting on the ground.

"Come  on, It'll be fun," she encourages.

"Alright," he gets up.

"Yay," she squeals.

"You're such a child," he shakes his head.

Kat goes over to the huge sign and starts climbing. When she gets to the top, Damon is, of course, at the top before her.

"You know, you could always go easy on me," she says sitting down on the edge.

"I don't me not doing anything would solve anything," he smirks.

She punches him in the arm, he laughs

"You hit like a girl," he laughs.

She rolls her eyes.

When he's done laughing, they sit there in silence, watching the sunset. He puts his arm around her and she puts her head on his shoulder.

"This is beautiful," she sighs.

"Not as beautiful as you," he says.

"She looks up at him, amusement in her eyes, "you are so corny," she giggles.

"You love it though," he sighs.

She sits up. "I want to thank you for all of this," she looks him in the eye.

"You don't have to. Just you breathing is good enough for me."

"No, I'm serious. You did all of this for me."

"I'm serious too. Seeing you everyday is the only reason I get up now," he puts his hand on her face gently. She puts her hand over his, "I love you Katerina."

He presses his lips against hers, softly but firmly. He pulls away, when Kat starts to get deeper into the kiss.

"I love you too," she catches her breath.

He puts his arm back around her and she puts her head back on his shoulder.

Damon could stay here forever. But,  there is just so much trouble at home. Maybe when everything is calm and Tyler is dead, he could buy a house here in Hollywood for him and Kat to live in. He knows she wants to get away from her father, and there's no one for her in Mystic Falls, so, maybe she'll agree to stay in Hollywood with him.
