The One I Adore

There's one I adore, I love with all of my heart.
He is like the rain, A calm and powerful force.
An observant owl, camouflaged in the terrain.
He is like a lion, strategy shown in his prowl.
He's a warrior, who is fighting for Zion, beside the father.

This one I cherish, is beauty forged in fire.
The scars on his heart, are from enemies vanquished.
Him, whom I speak of, has seen a love that has sparked.
A love just for her, who had a soul like a dove.
Yet she was fragile, pretending to have no fear, be unstoppable.

It wasn't to be, this start of a love so true,
A memory now, a bitter sweet thing to see.
This survivors heart, was in the police impound.
Locked away; guarded, helping out behind the bars,
Never stepping out. Finishing what he's started within his walled off house.

Now he is open, impound has a swinging door.
I thank him for trust, to share the secrets of war.
Though many a tale, the reasons of fear are lost.
And yet still he fears, that these tales one might retell.
Tales of pain and grief, of how he no longer cares, how he's now a machine.

The one I adore, his friendship I hold most dear.
The most precious gem, where to display it now clear.
I chose not to go, I'll display it here instead.
And when I shall show, the beautiful precious stone,
Then you will know,
How much value it holds
Just to hear you say,
Im so glad that you stayed.
