Yes

I am here.
You are there.
Which honestly is a shame.
I'd rather be where your voice is clear,
To see that smiling face.

I've thought a lot of what I am,
Who we are,
And what we're meant to be.
I've thought about where I stand,
How we made it this far,
And many other things.

We have fought, and moved on.
We chose to make it work,
Way before we reached this point.
We talked it through, the best and the worst,
In each discussion, we both had a voice.

And I realized,
Holding back won't keep you safe, and stepping out won't make it easy.
I realized,
That in holding back, you still give your heart away,
And stepping out gives work a whole new meaning.

Resisting has its unknown downsides,
Surrender has its known sacrifices.
Being neutral will lead you nowhere.
To weigh the refusal to roll the dice,
Against ignoring those who say love is unknown to kids.
To choose to be guarded or bare.

Worrying does nothing.
The first step will give you something.

There's so many things on my mind.
Often times my focus is hard to find,
But if my mind is constantly worrying,
And worrying does nothing,
Then shouldn't I shift my thoughts to what I could gain?
Stop fearing the storm and dance in the rain?

You don't get a choice whether you get hurt or not,
That much is true.
But you get to choose who hurts you.
And It would be an honor to have my heart broken by you.

Because in the long run,
I know the good will outweigh the bad.
That if it should should end,
I know I can't be sad.

Because if you find that person
Who knows you yet doesn't care
Where you've been,
Or what burdens you bear,

You ought to throw out your doubts,
And chase after that person,
Because it's not always the ending, but the story that counts.

The journey that teaches your heart.
If you never leave,
And just stay put,
You'll never learn, and you'll never see the beauty.

I've realized that fearing an ending is a waste of time.
I know in my heart that it feels right,
Change my answer from maybe to a solid yes,
And with each step we take, we'll work out the rest.
