Dear Diary,
After crying yesterday I shifted over in my hospital bed allowing Eddie to squash up next to me. We didn't say anything that whole not, only holding each other as we both shifted off to sleep.

This morning when I woke up Eddie was still sleeping behind me with his face buried in my hair and his arm wrapped securely around my waist.

My whole body felt numb and sickly but I didn't want to move in case I woke Eddie. I knew that the nurse would be around soon for her rounds, but I still couldn't find the motivation.

My breathing felt ragged and unsteady as I stated out of the window watching the clouds move forward across the dull grey sky.

I felt Eddie shift behind me, but after a few seconds he became still. My eyes where growing heavy, but I was forcing them to stay open.

Dropping my arm to the side of the bed I grabbed a piece of paper taking my time to scribble my thoughts before folding it up and slipping it into my diary.

Grabbing Eddies hand that rested around my waist I intertwined our fingers before finally allowing the drowsy feeling in my head overtake while closing my eyes.

Love,
Annabel
