Promise

Sunset

"Henry! You're going to be late to your first date! We still have to pick up Violet" I yell to the other room where Henry is getting dressed.
Henry walks out finally. His hair is brushed and he's wearing his nice red and black button up shirt.
"I tried not to dress too fancy cause we're just going to the movies" Henry says looking down at what he is wearing. "Mom Im so nervous don't think I can do this. What if I smell or she laughs at me or I make a fool of myself or I-"

"Henry! She likes you and trust me when a girl has a crush the boy would have to really screw up to change her mind. Just trust me you both will have so much fun lets go" I say grabbing the keys "you look great by the way"
"Thanks mom" Henry says walking out of the door.
We drive to Violets house and Henry gets out rings her doorbell. They walk back and Henry opens the back door of my car and they climb in.
"Hi Violet I'm Emma Henry's mother" I greet her
"Hello it's so nice to meet you and thanks for taking us" she leans over to Henry and I hear her whisper "She's even prettier than you said"
"I like her" I say to Henry and they laugh
When I park outside of the theatre I turn around and say "Okay text me if you need anything and have fun" I say as they get out of the car
"Bye mom" Henry says at the same time Violet says "Thank you"
    I wait until they go in to drive off. Killian is going to pick me up in an hour. I already did my hair and most of my makeup I just need to get dressed.
      I texted Mary Margaret today and her date yesterday went great. They are so cute together I'm so glad she's happy.
        When I get home I put on a light pink dress that I think is perfect for the beach. I wonder what his boat is like. Why do I have to dress fancy. I guess I'll see.
         My makeup is really light just some rose gold and silver make up with a nude lip.
            I'm ready by 6:20 and sigh and sit down. I'm actually excited. Killian is a great guy so far and I have lots of fun with him. His past is mysterious though. He's always vague about his family and only mentioned his brother once before. I'll ask him today.
          I sigh and put my head back. He's so perfect honestly that makes me seem like there is something off about him.
EMMA
          You need to stop thinking like that."Try to have fun tonight" I say to myself out loud the same time the doorbell rings.I stand up and walk to the door.
I shake my hands out answer the door.When I opened the door one word came too mind...
Damn.
             He was wearing black jeans an shirt with a leather jacket. "Hi" I say smiling opening the door wider.
           His eyes seemed to linger on me (my face I promise).He doesnt say anythng until he coughs embarressed and says "Hello love you look breathtaking..literally" I laugh and say "thank you" trying not to blush to hard.
          I notice that one of his hands is behind his back. "This is for you" Killian says handing me a rose.
        "That's so sweet thank you" I say looking down there it.Nobody ha given a single rose before. I love the gesture it's so simple and sweet.
          Where should i put this? I ask myself awkwardly looking back into the apartment. "I'll just put this here" I say putting the rose onto the counter in my kitchen "So shall we?" I ask walkng out closing the door behind me.
"We shall"Killian says smirking slightly.
When we get to his car he opened the door for me and I get in. His car is nice it's a convertable and the roof is open.
"Sweet car"I say while nodding my head approvingly. He hand goes over the steering wheel "Well you haven't lived until your on an empty road with the roof off driving so fast that the only thing faster was your worries leaving you" He said looking off as if imagining it.
"Sounds Beautiful" I say and he looks over at me and says "It is".
On the drive there we make small talk about work and I tell him about Henry and how he's on a date.
When we reach the docks he parks and we start walking to where he said the boat was.
"Crap" I say looking down at my heels. How am I supposed to walk on sand? "What's wrong?" Killian asked me and I respond "Nothing" as I bend down and slip my shoes off and keep walking while carrying them.
"You know I could have just carried you" he says while gesturing his hands forward. I laugh "I just might take you up on that offer".
"So the boat you mentioned is it yours?"I ask Killian when he said we were getting close to the boat
"Yes..Well kinda me and my brother both bought her together"
"Her?"
"Yeah she's small but the Jolly Roger is the fastest boat in New York" He says proudly
"Jolly Roger? Cute"
"Me and my brother loved Peter Pan when we were kids"
"I was actually way into the disney princess movies" I say
"Really?"
"Ya there wasn't a lot I had. Especially people to look up to so I saw these princesses and wanted to be like them."
       I say remembering me sitting alone in one of the foster homes watching any disney movie I could find.
"I understand" He says nodding "I personally always looked up to my brother. He's the oldest and was my best friend most of my life"
"Then what?" I ask not wanting to ask too much
"Then life went on he went to college and I had to learn how to fend for myself you know? No more older brother to watch your back. Then he had died and I was alone again"
"I'm so sorry. He seemed like a good ma " I say and he nods "There's nothing i wouldnt have done to have someone to watch over me" I say
       "We're you an only child or somethng?" Killian asks oblivious of the fact that I'm an orphan.
       I know I should  just tell him. I've avoided his questions about my past so far but he deserves to know the truth.My truth.
        "You could say that..actually I don't know.I was abondoned as a baby. I don't know anything about my real parents it was a closed adoption. Total blackout" I say looking down and start walking faster
         "Emma?Emma!" He says jogging to catch up with me and when he's next to me "I didn't know..I can't imagine how it must've been."
         I still am looking down and I can't bring myself to say anything.I didn't talk about my past in so long.
     "Hey Emma" He almost whispers.He puts his hand on my chin and gently raises my head "look at me, I'm not going anywhere.You'r going to have fun tonight okay?You can talk about your past or forget it.Wine helps with both" He says smiling and I can't help but smile with him.
       He takes my hand lightly by just the end of my fingers and we walk for about two minutes before we spot the Jolly Roger.        
       "Wow" is the only thing I could say at first "This is not a boat this is a yacht" I look at Killian then back at the yacht in awe"
