Safe

After we finished fishing yesterday Killian dropped us off and Henry and I went straight to sleep. We were so tired from being out the whole day. It's Sunday so Henry slept in and I went to work.

  It's about 11:00 right now and I'm sitting in the sheriffs station. Sometimes I need to go and get papers for the case I'm working. I also come here to see Graham. He's the sheriff and when I need a favor he always helps out so I'm here now to ask for help.

I walk into his office and he's sitting on his chair with his legs up on his desk looking at papers.
"Emma! Good to see you" he says getting up and giving me a hug
"Yeah it's been a while" My job has gotten easier for the past month and not lots of people skipped bail and those who did we're easy to find. Except this new man who I need to find. Robin Maguire. He's very good at not leaving a trace.
       "Want a donut?" He offers handing me a box filled with delicious looking donuts and I take a bear claw.
      "So, I've been reading up on this Mr. Maguire and this is all the info we have, I don't think you'll find very helpful" he says then hands me the file he was reading "Bur here it is anyways"
    "Thanks Graham I owe you one I'm gonna go try and find a lead" I say starting to walk out but he grabs my hand and I turn back around "Emma, maybe you could pay me back by having a drink with me tonight" He says and I don't know what to say.
     Killian and I. What are we? We're not dating we just been on a few dates. I really like him and I don't want to screw this up like I always do. But Graham is a friend.
      "Only if I catch this son of a bitch" I say smirking and walking out.

      It's been two hours and I can't find any leads. I talk to some eyewitnesses that saw him but none are helpful. I've also been to the last two places he had been living in and nothing. He's so thorough that I think he's either a professional or protecting someone...
      At 1:00 I stop and take a break at a coffee shop called the Merry Men Tavern. I think about all I have on him so far. He's in his 30's, sentenced to two to five years for theft, and has a lion tattoo on his right arm.
            I finish my coffee, pay, and start to walk out then remember that I need to check in on Henry so I pull my phone out and right as I send him a text I slam into someone and my phone falls. I kneel down and retrieve my phone and look around. I'm outside of the cafe now and there isn't very busy traffic in the street in front of me.         
   
       When my eyes land on who knocked into me my eyes widen. It's him! Robin. He's apologizing and just to be sure I glance down and low and behold, on his right wrist is a lion tattoo. He's still apologizing when I look up at him again. 
       "I'm so sorry I didn't see you walk out. Did your phone break? I can pay for any damages" Weird a criminal wouldn't usually be so kind to a stranger. But he is a criminal and I finally caught him. Well, fate helped too.
    My hands go to my back and I touch the pair of handcuffs I have but don't take them out and put my phone away incase he runs.
   "Robin Maguire, You are under arrest for theft and have the right to remain silent as I take you back into custody" I say about to grab my handcuffs but as soon as I finish he dashes the other way and I race after him.
      "Dammit. Why do they always run" I say running in front of traffic. 
    He runs across a park and I am far behind him big I take a shortcut that I know because I used to come her with Henry and bike together. I run as fast as I can and and cut him off at the edge of the park. I corner him and say out of breath "There's no where to run. I already called for back up and they're on there way." I say and he doesn't try to run so I go and walk to him , push him down on his knees and cuff him. "I had to do it! This man was blackmailing me! I swear I'm innocent. I have a son. Roland I'm all he has! Please I need to take care of him and I can't behind bars" he says pleading
   "Who?Who blackmailed you?!" I say and he says "I don't know! He didn't say his full name it was something.. something gold. And he owns that pawnshop down on 39th street! I swear he threatened to hurt my sun" he says and I can tell he's telling the truth. If he's not lying that means that he's innocent.
        I pull him up and look at him "Robin, If what your saying is true then your son might be in danger. Where is he?" I say and he says "Hidden. Safe. And he will stay that way until he's no longer in danger"
    "I can help him. I have a son. His name is Henry and I know what it's like to want to keep your only child safe" I say and he nods "Okay I'll go with you but you have to promise you'll catch this gold person and take care of Roland. He's with my best friend John. He works at the cafe you were just at"
   "You don't have much of a choice wether your going with me or not but I promise I will" I say calling Graham to come.

   Graham came and put Robin back in custody. We're standing inside his office and I tell him what Robbin said about this mysterious Mr. Gold.
    "I'll get my head detective to look into it" He says
"Thanks Graham I appreciate it"
