The One that is Feared

I don't care it turns into a monster, just finish the experiment and we will win the future war!

X heard a man shouting those words in a pitch black while pain throbs in his entire body. It was an itchy feeling on his skin, his very muscles are being ripped apart. X didn't even know that his eyes are still open because of the pitch black surrounding him to the point that he can't even see his own body, nor feel it. All that he can feel is that pain enveloping his whole body and he thought that his very soul is in pain.

Relax, you just have to endure the pain, think of all the memories that you have up until this point.

X heard Gilliam speaking to him. Somehow the pain went away, but not all, physical pain has diminished around him. But as soon as his memories flowed in his mind, a brand new pain came into him. Emotions.

X remembered the day he was brought up to a certain facility somewhere in the human kingdom with kids of his age. He doesn't know what it was for, but he was certainly sure that it will not be fun. His next vision of his memories then showed how he grew up in that facility, facing different painful experiment from one to the next, day after day.

Later on, he saw himself being forcibly put on a machine, his skin pale and boney. It's like he was in a near death situation. X felt rage as he tried to remember the faces of the people inside that room as well as the machines and the things around it. As he remembered the cold steel that touched his very skin and bones, he then knew what will happen next. Water began to flood the machine he was in. It was a mixture of blue and red water that made it appear purple in color in his eyes.

Soon after, he woke up with a pain in his body where ticking with so much energy that he felt that he was rejuvenated. But as soon as he stood up, scientists and normal people alike in that room began stepping back from him. Even the 'friends' he had on that facility began backing out from him. He was so shocked by that event even the lead white coat who has a tag named Sonik showed fear through his eyes, even though the face is full of wrinkles and sagged skin. It devastated him to the point he lost control of the new power that he was supposed to control and everything went dark again.

After the pain subsided inside him, he saw another memory, it was a moment when he was being taught by the same kind he was, but he was killed when the human's army, specifically being led by the scientist named Sonik. It was the day when he was being forced again to return to that filthy facility. And he saw how his master was killed and he was left to die when humans keep stabbing him in the body leaving him in a bloody pool when they decided to fight back to keep their freedom.

And he began remembering the moments he spent with his new found friends in Myrrh's castle. The adventures and hardships that he went through with them. It was such a nice feeling for him and the pain on his chest began to dissipate from him.

Good, now I'll release myself from your body now.

As soon as he felt Gilliam's soul went away from his body, he can see his own body and hands again, he was naked through and through but he didn't mind that, there was something new in him. It was like there is a light on his body. "Finally, who would have thought that it only needs acceptance to fully control my own power." He said to himself.

"That is right, emotions such as rage and sadness is a powerful force for us, non-humans too." And Noah and AmLorr appeared in front him. Just like him, AmLorr was naked to the ground and what he noted that AmLorr's wings grew grander than a normal pixie. Her wings is colored majestically and beautifully as if he was looking at the queen of the fairies.

"Technically, you are correct." With that words coming from his behind, he felt Gilliam's skin touching his own skin from the back. X can feel the very curves and shapes of Gilliam's body. Even the scars, breathing heavily. "X, can you by chance put me down, this is an awkward position for the both of us and if my girl sees me like this with another man, she might kill me." And hastily, X removed Gilliam's tired body off him and lay him on the grassy patch. Noah, in turn, put a white sheet of blanket on him and gave out the same type of sheets to AmLorr and X.

"By the way, how long has it been?" X asked Noah who was healing Gilliam's spirit by the help of a cat like-creature with ribbon-like skin flowing out from its body.

"The purification for you and AmLorr's hatching?" Noah paused to look at the sky, X noticed that the stars are shaped differently. "I think it was almost a year that has passed."

"And the war is still going?" Noah nodded.

"Like we said before, the war with the humans and demons is a battle of attrition." Noah looked down at Gilliam and stood up, walking towards the camp. "But the war scale is tipped towards the union of demons and humans since the majority of the generals and some high brass are off and absent from the battlefield because they are working on looking for people like you and training their asses off."

"But we are back right?" Noah nodded but his expression is dark.

"You're back that is a fact. But the other side has a new army of X's kind." X felt rage in deep inside him and a black aura began emitting him. As soon as he realized it, he looked towards AmLorr and Noah, but he can't feel fear around him. Even the small critters didn't fly away from him like they usually do.

"See, when you have accepted your past?" Gilliam spoke again after the glow from the summoned creature that Noah called has died down. Gilliam stood up from the ground. "Now, we have to return to the front line. My men, have to rest for protecting this area from the enemies.

After walking from the area towards the camp, they saw that the army's number has diminished, but the tree and the tents are still the same in number. "What happened?" AmLorr asked Gilliam who was walking while trying to wear his clothes on.

Noah spoke first, "Non-Humans grow in differently from humans, they grow as long as they learn and when they learn, they seek  greater knowledge."

"We all know that that is why, we explore the world, worlds other than this, and we return stronger than before." Gilliam continued.

"Unlike humans who grow strong by number and a limited knowledge and experience, non-humans are fond of keeping records of how to be strong and pass it to their next in line kin" Noah explained further.

"In simple terms, we non-humans learn by ourselves and grow alone with the time given to us. And that makes us more powerful than humans all together." Gilliam stopped after gearing himself up perfectly, his style of being the most powerful swordsman in this world and maybe to the others as what he had heard before. Gilliam was wearing something light than most swordsman he had encountered so far.

"I think the others have finished their training too. Let's go meet them at Zeth's tent." Gilliam walked a little faster than before.

When they entered the tent of the general commander, X and AmLorr saw a pair of elves where their eyes glow of different color and they grew taller. Thirdy's eye glowed with a pair of black and red light from the very pupil of the eyes, while Kyler's eyes glowed the same but with the color of purple and white. They also had a very good built now considering their training at the moon.

Besides them was Kry who now has a more powerful looking wings of gold. He also grew a tail of his own and part of his skin has white scales much like the purple coloring from Myrrh's skin. And finally, Reighn who grew more beautiful but looks deadly with the black lipstick and make-up on her face and an intimidating posture that seems she was the higher entity of the people inside.

"We are now ready, the others will meet on the battle field. Now we strike the humans." Myrrh happily said with a bloodlust ready to rip every being on her path.
