Majesty A. Collins

My few classes today went by fairly quickly. Luckily, I also have no homework, well besides the research paper that I'm 30% done with, but it's due in a few weeks.

For my sake, I don't have work today because of all my overtime.

"What is one thing you want to do before you die?" Keiara asked, holding her pencil tightly.

"Live." I answered without thinking while flipping through the tv channels.

"That's a good one, I'm going to write it down."

I tore my eyes away from the tv, but only for a quick second because I saw Fifty Shades of Grey on.

"I can't do your homework for you Kei."

She looked up at the tv with a disgusted look on her face. The movie was on the scene where Anastasia fell while going into Christian's office.

"Turn this nasty shit off." She rolled her eyes. "And you're not, I'm the one who's writing it down, duh."

I laughed quietly and got comfortable on my couch. I wasn't going to turn this movie off, it's one of my favorites.

After thirty minutes, Keiara stood up with her homework and Pink bag in her hands. "If you're going to continue watching this then I'm leaving."

"Okay, bye." I waved her off.

"Right after I steal a piece of pizza." She snickered, making her way towards the kitchen.

I scoffed and kept my eyes on the tv. She's 'stealing' a slice of pizza that I bought for the both of us, but she still doesn't know that I used to grocery shop in her fridge sometimes. She was always over her boyfriend's house so she never even realized it.

Once I heard the door close I pressed the record button on the remote and got off of the couch. I strolled down the hall to the bathroom and prepared to take a hot shower.

"Bluetooth, check. Chips in case I get hungry, check. Soap, check. Towels and all that, check." I stated as I looked around my small bathroom.

I locked my bathroom door, even though it's just me. I get paranoid so easily.

Turning the knob of the shower, I made sure the water was at a perfect temperature before getting in.

The hot water soothed my muscles from all of the walking and worrying. The soft melody playing in the bathroom made it all seem more relaxing. Especially since the song's by Sade.

No place for beginners or sensitive hearts
When sentiment is left to chance
No place to be ending but somewhere to start.

No need to ask
He's a smooth operator
Smooth operator, smooth operator
Smooth operator.

My eyes closed as I allowed the warm water to hit my curls. Running my fingers through my hair, I shook my head a little so the water could get everywhere.

The Sade song that was echoing throughout my bathroom used to be my favorite song just earlier this year when I found out my ex cheated on me. He could have any girl he want, yet I was so naive to think that I was the only one. As Sade says, he's a smooth operator.
