Majesty A. Turner

I smiled faintly at the receptionist as I signed in. She returned the kind gesture before setting her gaze back on her book. The waiting room was occupied with many women; some with big bellies, small bellies, and even a few with young children. Some of the women had their husband, or boyfriends, beside them. The women with men with them all wore bright smiles on their faces. Pursing my lips, I stared down at my lap and picked at a string on my jeans. How will Alex react when he finds out? He has expressed his feelings about having kids before; two, going on three, years ago he was the reason why I had a miscarriage. Is it possible for someone to change their views on something like that so quickly?

Am I even responsible enough to nurture a child? I do not have the slightest clue on how to be a parent. The one thing I do know how to do is love. I will never treat my child how I was treated.

A miserable childhood equals a life like mine.

This situation could be much worse than it is now. Ace could have raped me. I could have been carrying his child.

What if he did rape me? What if this is his baby though?

"Majesty?" A light voice called out.

I stood up which allowed the woman to give me her full attention. A bright smile played on her lips as she greeted me and told me to follow her. We departed the waiting room and sauntered down a long, white hallway. The walls had a few paintings and drawings; it's obvious that small children did these art pieces.

My eyes somehow found their way to the curvy, Mexican woman's behind. The way her hips swayed side to side with each step she took made me feel somewhat lost. I felt as if I were under a spell. However, that feeling quickly disappeared when we entered a room.

She patted the examination table with that same smile on her face. "Just hop up here and Dr. Williams will be with you shortly."

Nodding, I sat my purse in the chair. "Thank you..." squinting, I caught a glimpse of her name tag. "Yovanna."

She chuckled quietly and removed a strand of hair from in front of her eyes. "My pleasure."

Once Yovanna was gone I decided to sit on the examination table. My legs swung back and forth as I stared at all the pictures on the wall. Each picture showed the different stages of pregnancy. The babies look somewhat... creepy. Alien like to be exact.

"Good morning Mrs. Turner. I'm Dr. Williams." My head snapped in the direction of the young black woman who had a giant, kinky puff-ball on her head.

"Good morning." I mumbled. "Please call me Majesty."

She nodded and sat in her rolling chair while flipping through a few papers. "So, how have you been feeling? Nauseas? Dizzy?"

Sitting up a bit, I met Dr. William's stare. "Nauseas, and dizzy. I barely feel hungry."

"Have you been eating though?"

"Uh... no." My head dropped in embarrassment. "I didn't find out that I'm pregnant until last night. But I forced myself to eat before I came here."
