Majesty A. Turner

It seems as if all the worries I had just simply vanished. Vacation is just something the human brain needs. Being in one place for too long is like a prison. You're locked up and tired of seeing the same scenery. We all need change once in awhile.

But change is something we seem to be afraid of.

Inhaling the tropical air, I then exhaled with a huge smile on my face. I found myself constantly gazing away from the laptop in front of me and at Alex. He's just such a distraction. A beautiful distraction. He caught my stare and chuckled a bit, causing me to blush. Although we've been through hardships, he still manages to put a smile on my face. His large hands took the laptop from my grasp and slid it across the table before sitting down next to me.

The sound of the ocean crashing against the shore and birds chirping made a wonderful melody. There was a rosy pink tint in the sky since the sky was breaking free of the night and into the early morning. The pinkish tint reminded me of cotton candy. Fluffy cotton candy that you and your significant other shares at local fairs.

"Stop working." Alex spoke barely above a whisper. "We're on vacation baby girl."

I couldn't fight the smile on my face. What he said wasn't amusing, but I just couldn't help but to smile. I'm on Thailand sitting on a balcony of a private resort that overlooks the ocean. I'm also with my husband, the one God took his time on. "But I need to get my poem up before the end of January. It's the 30th." Tomorrow was my birthday. I finally turn twenty two.

Alex allowed me to finish the poem and email it to Shannon. Shannon will review it and then post it on the site. She'll notify me when it's posted, but I don't care to know. I know it'll be posted, I just want to spend all the time I can with Alexander. We're always together, but I just want to be all under him. It seems as if at home there's always problems. But it's different here. We're happy. We're free. We're away from all of our problems. Neither one of us have touched alcohol or drugs. It hasn't even been in our minds and it's been three days. These three days consisted of us exploring the small town, each other's bodies, and practically staying on the beach from dusk to dawn.

It's magical being by a body of water while the stars are out. It's amazing how stars are so beautiful, yet they're on fire. They're a burning fiery of beauty waiting to burn out.

All beautiful things eventually burn out.

"You know what I really love about this place?" I glanced up at Alex as we walked side by side. After eating a very small breakfast we got dressed and headed towards the small village. There were a lot of people but it felt as if it were only the two of us. Alex looked down at me, awaiting my answer. "I love all the fresh fruits. I love their culture also." My eyes wandered around, taking in our surroundings. There were a lot of locals out and about buying the fruit and vegetables. They actually have a market on the water. All the fresh fruits and vegetables are in the boat along with the person trying to sell them. Where can you find that at? "I could stay here forever."

Once the boats with the fruit and veggies were in view I grabbed onto Alex's hand and skipped towards them like a small child wanting to see Santa.
