"She should be waking up any minute now" Alice grinned as Renesmee was passed into my arms. I looked down at her smiling as she looked up at me. Over the past two days she had grown considerably, looking as if she was 3 months old at least.
"I still think all you guys are assholes for having me as the test bait" I grumbled, stroking Nessie's cheek. Yes. Nessie. I knew Bella was absolutely going to Jacob when she found out that monstrous nickname, but hey it was catchy.
"Language around the baby" Rosalie muttered looking solely at the baby in my arms with a soft smile on her face.
"I can say it in French, Spanish, Italian. You name it" I winked "no but seriously, sending me out first with a blood thirsty newborn?! I know I'm annoying guys but surely not that annoying."
"You'll be fine" Carlisle assures "Jacob is going out there with you, him and Edward can protect you if needed."
"Yeah because either of them are going to do harm to Bella" I scoffed "her soul mate and the dog who's now claimed her child. I'd feel a hell of a lot safer if Jasper was outside."
"I haven't claimed her child!" Jacob sighed loudly "I've told you all a hundred times it's not like that."
"Just wait until Bella finds out" I sung handing Renesmee to Rosalie as I heard Bella's heart finally stop beating "then someone and it won't be me will need Jasper's protection."
"She's not gonna hurt me" Jacob said, uncertainty filling his voice.
"Newborns are unpredictable" Jasper piped up as he came into the room "she may not even remember who Edward is."
"I'd say by the sound of them jumping out the window together, I'd say we're doing okay." I smirked over hearing them going hunting together, I tuned to Emmett "I bet you 50 bucks that Bella at least punches Jacob" Emmett burst into laughter and shook my hand in response.
"100 if she breaks something."
"Oh you're on" I grinned, watching Jacob turn paler by the second. We all waiting around for the happy couple to return, mainly just watching Renesmee and how she was reacting to being in the world. Shortly than expected, we heard both Bella and Edward walk up to the house, I turned to Jacob grinning "showtime." He visibly gulped as we both slowly headed outside.
"Damn Bella, you're looking good!" I whistled coming down the steps smiling at my now sister "vampire venom right? Does wonders for acne scars." I grinned at her, causing her to smile softly back. I know if she was human she would have blushed "so, hows the plasma drinking life?"
"Um great I guess? Not sure on the eyes" she replied pushing her hair behind her ears, "what are you doing out here?"
"Well, you see. I'm bait." I rolled my eyes "if you can handle my scent, then you can handle your kid's, since you know, we're practically the same. But I'm way cooler."
