Marinette rolled away from the sudden blast. She glared at the akuma, but was forced to run again when the child shot another beam at her. Chat leaped after his partner and they both ducked into an alleyway. The akuma giggled and skipped around. "Ladybug? Chat Nor? Where'd you go?" The leather clad feline's ears flattened at the child's mispronunciation of his name. "I wanna play, come out."

"What are we gonna do, my Lady?" her companion asked. "Any tricks your yo-yo can swing out now?"

"Seriously? Two puns at once?" she groaned. "How long were you waiting for that one?"

"As long as the start of this attack. Speaking of, when are we gonna end it?"

"As soon as I find time to call on my Lucky Charm."

He grinned. "Say no more, Buginette." he said as he started to run off.

"Chat! Wait!"

He couldn't hear her. The cat ran out into the street and called over the akuma, arms waving. The child giggled and ran towards him with her hands grasping out towards him. She squealed kitty and wailed as he raced away.

Ladybug shook her head in dismay and reached to grab her yo-yo. However a yowled stopped her. She turned to see Chat growl at the young child that zipped her way in front of him and zapped him with her beam of light. She raced out towards the fighting pair but stopped short when she stumbled onto a tiny crying Chat. The little girl giggled and started to walk up to him, but the super heroine scooped up the little boy and ran off, leaving the akuma child pouting and screaming.

Atop a civilian roof, she placed the little boy down and tried to hush his wails. He rubbed his eyes while tears poured out and snot leaked from his nose. He kept gurgling out apologies and pleas, but it all flew over her head as she did her best to clean up his wet face. "Shh, shh, kitty. You'll be okay. It's all right. You're safe here."

"'M sorry, Milady." he wailed. "I got 'n the way again." Tears burst out.

The young girl tried her best to sooth him, but failed as he kept crying. His hands kept trying to wipe more and more tears away, but it only made his cheeks itchy. "Hey, listen. I know someone who can watch over you while I fix up the mess." He sniffles and was on the verge of crying again. "Uh— don't worry. He's really nice and I'm sure you'll get along great. You did a good job since you found where the akuma hid. You always find it faster than me."

He frowned as he wiped another tear away. "You can't fight by yer'self. We're partners."

"Chat," she said, cupping his small sized cheek. He purred and landed into her touch. "We are partners. And I promise after this we can have cookies when on our patrol tonight."

"Cookies?" he repeated, tail swaying behind him.

The lady nodded and scooped him up. "Come on. I need someone to make sure you don't get into trouble."

Jian saw reading his text book in his room, away from all distractions. However, the more he read into his books, the harder it became to focus.

He left the stuffy air around of his bed and entered the less cluttered living room. He walked to the back of the couch and found the remote. He leaned forward and started to channel surf. The Kids+ station had their weather girl tell in the most basic French what sunny was. Opera D'un Triste Amour was replaying an old episode. The news was covering an akuma that was rampaging the streets.

He groaned and resided to grab a glass of water and down it before putting away dishes. Once the chore was done, he leaned against the counter and ready to text a friend when he heard a thump upstairs. His eyebrow arched as he looked towards Marinette's attic. It became eerily silent after a minute. He rolled his eyes and looked back at his phone. The girls were finishing up school. There was no way —
