I woke up when I felt myself moving, which of course is odd since I'm supposed to be immobile when sleeping. My eyelids slowly opened and I saw it was nighttime. I was in a familiar raven haired boy's arms.

"S-Sasuke?" I managed to ask; my throat felt so dry and hoarse.

"You shouldn't be so reckless, Hotaru. The others were worried about you, and Kakashi-sensei sent me to get you," he told me and I looked down.

The OTHERS huh, so not you. That's so like you...

"You...didn't happen to care about what happened to me, did you?" I asked softly, my gaze glued to the ground. He stopped jumping and perched on a tree, my weak, frail body still in his arms.

"Well, no not really, since just a few hours ago, you tried to kill me," he snapped. I looked up apologetically, but then looked down guiltily.

"Right, of course...sorry about that," I mumbled and sighed. It felt like he pulled me closer to his body so that my head was resting on his chest, but I wasn't sure.

"It's fine, just don't try that again."

I looked up and gave him a small smile, until I felt dizzy and almost passed out.

"Hotaru!" Sasuke's voice yelled, and I couldn't help but crack my eyes open. But I was so tired and just wanted to sleep.

"Shut up...Teme..." I mumbled groggily and he looked slightly startled. I unconsciously nuzzled my head into his chest and wrapped my arms around his neck loosely so I wouldn't choke him. I don't know if I heard it right, but I think he chuckled, "Dobe."

When I woke up, I was laying in my futon and Sasuke was on my left in his own futon. I decided to stay laying in bed since no one else was awake. I watched Sasuke innocently.

He looks so peaceful, which is different from the hard, cold Uchiha that I know. Does everyone look this peaceful when they sleep? Also...when did he get so attractive?

I blushed at my thoughts, but didn't deny them. Sure, I hated him, but he was pretty good-looking. He started shifting around so I shut my eyes close and pretended to sleep. I heard him sit up and sigh.

"What am I going to do with you, dobe," he mumbled and sat down next me. He playfully twisted a piece of my pastel blue hair around his finger and played with it a bit. I felt my cheeks get warmer and warmer.

"You can open your eyes, dobe, I know you're awake. People don't usually blush in their sleep," he said and my cheeks became a crimson red as I opened my eyes and looked away in embarrassment as he was still touching my hair. It felt nice, I won't deny that, but it made me feel vulnerable.

"Your hair is really soft, just like everyone says. I wanted to confirm that myself," he said, making my heart drop all the way down to my feet.

Why do I feel so...disappointed?

"O-okay," I stuttered and slowly tried to turn away from him. I almost succeeded until he pulled me me back into my normal position and pressed his forehead against mine. My blush returned and I couldn't help but hold my breath. Our sudden closeness was unexpected, but I kind of enjoyed it.

"You do have a fever after all," he said and smirked at my colored cheeks. "You should stay in bed and rest."

I scoffed. "You tell me this as if I didn't know. You do realize I'm training to become a Medical Ninja? I know simple stuff like that," I grumbled and turned my head. "Either way, I'm still going to Kakashi-sensei's lesson. After that I'll rest up."

Sasuke shook his head and pushed me down while I was trying to sit up. I frowned.

"Let me go!"

"No."

Over and over again, I tried getting up, but he wouldn't let me. After around five rounds of this, he pulled me towards him so that my back was against his chest. He wrapped his arms around my torso and he rested his chin on the crook of my neck.

"S-Sasuke, w-what are you doing?" I asked softly and he smirked.

"Just making sure you rest."

I tired squirming away, but I only managed to get myself into a more awkward position; our faces were just centimeters apart and we almost leaned in until Sakura screamed.

"Hotaru, why are you holding Sasuke like that?" she shouted and I sweat dropped.

Me? I was the one who was holding him down? Honey, it's clearly the other way around.

"I'm not even doing anything, he's the one who put me into this situation," I justified, but of course she didn't listen.

"Sakura," Sasuke called her name in a bitter, harsh voice, different to the way he was talking to me just minutes before. She faced him with a hopeful look.

"Yes, Sasuke-kun?"

"Stop bothering Hotaru, she has a fever and she feels cold, so I was just helping her get warm," he said and I looked down.

"He's right, it wasn't anything romantic, and there will never be anything romantic," I mumbled and Sasuke gave me a confused, yet surprised look. Sakura huffed and left the room to help Tsunami make breakfast. I silently stared at Sasuke as he watched Sakura slide the door closed. Once she walked away, Sasuke rudely pushed me off him and stood up. I looked down and scoffed, trying to fight the sadness and anger bubbling inside me.

"That was so nice of you to do, especially since I have a goddamn fever," I yelled and he pointed at Naruto who was awake, staring at me.

So he let me go because Naruto was waking up...?

"Morning..." Naruto greeted groggily and I gave a quiet "hi" back. He left to the bathroom, leaving Sasuke and I alone.
