Chapter 11: Skills
Date Created: Feb. 1,2017

-----------

The creators of the game made it so that the players would have a breather if they were suddenly stuck on an dangerous area or they want some private space. Corrupted Forest also had these kinds of areas.

Kian stood in a clearing with the pistol on his right hand. His eyebrows were furrowed and he was tapping his right foot on the ground.

He decided to create his first skill in the game. However, lots of ideas kept coming into his mind so he couldn't decise which of them would he try. Moreover, most of these skills needed a lot of concentration to be casted since they were complicated.

"Ugh! Whatever! I'll just make a simple one" he scratched his head dour frustration and recollected Fhy's instructions.

"The first step in creating a spell is to create its skeleton using mana before using merging them with the desired elemental particle" He pointed his gun towarda a tree.

Suddenly, a spinning bullet made of mana appeared. It was modelled just like a real bullet so that it would work. In fact, just this alone could already deal a lot of damage to monsters. However, Kian didn't settled down with this.

"The next step is to fuse the elemental particles" he followed the next step and focused his eyes on the bullet.

In the next second, grey smoke suddenly appeared and fused with the mana bullet. The mana bullet transformed and became metallic in nature. It was alchemy no matter where you look at it.

"My first skill. There's no special effect except for its hardness and speed. If only I could learn better methods in applying the elements then it wouldn't be as simple as this" he sighed and shook off his disappointment.

He pulled the trigger and the bullet flew at a speed the naked eye cannot follow. The bullet landed on the trunk of the tree and made a five inch hole on it.

"The effects are amazing though" Kian managed to smile.

The trees in here are apparently harder than in the real world. To be able to make a deep hole such as that, that means that the skill wasn't really useless.

His eyebrows twitched when he read the description but didn't made a comment about it. Instead, he was more interested of what became of the skill.

After the training with Fhy, he learned that personally created skills aren't levelled up but increased in proficiency. To freely manipulate their effects, the proficiency should be raised to a hundred percent.  Otherwise, the mana consumption and damage would remain the same.

"This skill should be enough to get me to level 10 within the next few days." he gazed at the dark forest around him.

Since he already had another form of assurance in battle, he decided to go hunt monsters to increase his level and gather enough Rune Stones.

A few hours later, Kian returned to the village and collapsed beside a tree. His entire body was sore especially his feet and arms. After all, he spent all of those hours running aorund and hunting. Although he had this game's stats to increase his strength and endurance, it still wasn't enough to support him to work continously.

However, there was a satisfied smile on his face. He raised his finger and doubled tapped on the air to summon the Status Screen.

The results were enough to make him satisfied. Having skills and not having them really had a huge difference. Especially since he was a mage. If he continued this till morning the next day, he would definitely reach level 10.

He looked up to the sky and saw that it was already about to turn dark.

"Tsk. There still school tomorrow. I hope the school gets bombed" He cursed carelessly and sighed.

With a tap of his finger, he was iimmediately logged out of the game.

When he returned back to Earth, he quickly went to the kitchen to scavenge whatever food was in there. After he finished eating, he realized that he actually managed to finish five plates worth of food.

"The hell..." he stood dumbfounded.

On the table were plates stacked on each other.

"Was I really that hungry?" Kian couldn't help but furrow his eyebrows. He wondered if there was a problem with his body.

After thinking about it for too long, he decided that it was just him being tired and nothing more.

He did his assignments soon after and watched an anime before he went to bed. Since he was mentally exhausted, he thought it would be easy for him to sleep. However, he actually was clear minded and did not feel sleepy. There was also a strange feeling of being energetic as if he just drank a can of Monstrosity.

"There's definitely something wrong" his eyes which were shut suddenly opened wide.

A strange thought suddenly emerged within his mind but before it could fully form, Kian suddenly felt drowsy. His eyes slowly closed and he fell into the dreamland.
