Kian went home slouching. He stayed up all night just to finish his research paper drafts. He couldn't help but fall on his bed after he arrived and didn't even bothered to remove his uniform and shoes as he fell asleep.

When he woke up, it was already 9:00 P.M.

Realizing that he still had classes at the game, he quickly stood up and ate dinner before he entered.

The world of Sylis doesn't have a different sense of time from Earth. It also had an approximate of about twenty four hours. However, it only had five hours of night and the rest were the day.

Still, Paimon Region was always dark since it was underground.

Judging from the bright blue color of the crystal on the ceiling of the place, it was still morning.

Kian felt relieved that it wasn't night. Monsters at night were after all twenty percent stronger and despite the doubled experience reward, he wasn't quite courageous enough to fight them.

He made a note on his mind to set his resurrection point inside the academy instead of outside if he had time.

When he arrived at the academy, a sight of professors and students running around could be seen. Aside from the obviously fantasy feel, it was almost no different from really university.

"I even had to go to school despite being in an MMO game?" he sighed and dragged his feet to the main building.

When he arrived in front of the classroom, he knocked a few times until he heard Professor Perch's voice inviting him in.

Just like yesterday, the place was still the otherworldly forest.

Professor Perch was sitting at the same spot but this time, a girl probably younger than Kian was sitting at the opposite chair.

"Um... Good Morning" he greeted the two with a hesitatnt smile towards the girl who was not there yesterday.

The girl wasn't a snob like the other students. The smile that she returned back to him and her flowing shiny black hair were made her a beautiful and approachable person.

"So you're Kian. I'm Bea, your classmate. Nice to meet you!" she greeted the shy young man.

"Yeah... Nice to meet you" he smiled and gave her a nod as he replied before he averted his eyes downwards.

Kian couldn't look at her bright smile for too long or he'll get jittery. He couldn't but wonder how such a person entered the Gloom Faction.

"Have a seat next to Bea, Kian. We'll be starting classes" Professor Perch said with a small smile and waved his hands.

Suddenly, a new chair appeared out of nowhere. While in a state of shock, Kian took the seat and faced the professor.

"It's a shame you didn't get to meet your other classmates since they left just an hour ago. The two of you are the second batch for today. Let's start our lesson at the very beginning to give Kian some background about this class" Professor Perch said and opened the thick book he was always reading.

He opened the book and showed Kian the contents. It was an introduction about the Shade Academy.

"Shade Academy had always been at the top of the other Magi Academies. However, we always like to be low-key and hide our abilities. Also, our school specializes in subjects that tend to be secretive and dangerous." he paused for a moment and turned the page.

"However, that does not mean we don't practice Auxiliary skills that can help us on the battlefield. Kian" he suddenly turned to look at Kian.

"Y-yes" the young man was surprised so he stuttered on his speech.

"Are you curious that how come there's a forest inside a classroom?" Professor Perch asked.

Kian nodded. He was indeed curious. At first, he thought it was programmed this way. Now, it seems that there was a reason for it.

"It's because of enchantments. With enchantments, you'll be able to turn and old object into new, a useless one to a majestic piece and a lot more. Right now, I'm going to pass you the basic knowledge about enchantments" the old man wave his finger and a ray of light shot through Kians forehead.

Suddenly, loads of information started to surface inside Kian's mind. A runic alphabet appeared. He didn't knew of it before but it was now stuck into his mind.

"That's the alphabet you use in creating enchantments. A combination of two runes or more would create an effect." he said and stood up.

He raised his right hand a fireball bursted into life on his palm. After that, mana in the form of blue smoke appeared and transformed into runes.

Suddenly, the fireball turned a shade darker. Kian and Bea who were just a meter away from Professor Perch could feel that the temperature around them increase.

"Have you felt its effects? Now Kian, try it" Professor Perch said and negated the fireball before he took a seat.

Kian nodded and took out his pistol.

A silver bullet appeared on the muzzle. Two runes then formed and attached themselves to the bullet. The bullet started to spin madly and flew to a distant tree.

The tree which was quite large was almost broken down into two. The shooter himself couldn't help but have a cold sweat when he saw the results. Just the spin effect of the runes managed to achieve this.

"Brilliant!" Professor Perch complimented him.

Bea also looked at him in admiration, although she didn't say anything.

Kian shyly returned the smile to them and returned to his seat to avoid any more talking

"Now all you have to do is practice applying the runes. You were still too slow in applying them and it may cost you your life in a battle" Professor Perch remknded him.

Kian seriously nodded. He also noticed this fact. If he used this in battle, he would have no time to dodge. It seems he still needed a lot of practice to put this into use not to mentioned the three or more combined runes.

"By the way, I heard that you took the Dark Magic Application Class? I'm also your professor in that subject. This is also the same room used. Come back here tomorrow to start the lessons" the old professor said.

"Y-yes" Kian responded, quite thankful he didn't need to walk in circles once again.

"Well, our lessons end here for today. You can go back and do your things or watch Bea watch practice. You wouldn't mind right Bea?" Professor asked Bea.

"Of course he can and..." Bea suddenly clicked a few buttons on the air.

Suddenly, a message appeared from Kian's Status Screen. It was actually a friend request from Bea.

Although quite surprised, he accepted the friend request fo avoid coming off as rude.

"If you need any help about today's lesson, you can just send me a Thought message" Bea once again flashed her bright smile which almost made the ever so awkwardly guy blind.

After the matter between the two, Bea finally started her practice. It was also the time where Kian for the first time saw the power of higher leveled players.
