Torches lit up the place revealing the aged walls of sand stones. The air was dry and the place was even a bit hot. It was clear that it was below a place with high temperatures. Despite that, weeds still thrived in the place.

Sounds of guns and screams could be heard. In the maze-like place, a brown haired young man wearing black fitting clothes suddenly dashed out from a corner. Right beside him was a flying monochrome-colored cat.

He fired several bullets of dark energy  towards his pursuers, a bunch of walking bandages or should we say, bandage covered people? However, one could see through the gaps in the eyes and mouths thst there were nothing inside but smoke.

"These guys are everywhere!" the young man gritted his teeth before he fired off another bullet.

The cat beside him turned into black light before it turned into a rune that engraved itself upon the pistol on the young man's hands.

Suddenly, the bullet split into countless bullets that were made of almost transparent materials shot out and rained upon the bandage creatures. These bullets were surrounded by a black glow and each of them had runes engraved upon them.

Dozens of the monsters quickly fell when suddenly, the bullets thst just passed through their bodies liquefied and became like mud. They shot through the air and passed through each of the monsters with great speed. If their movements were slowed down however, one would be able to notice that they would momentarily turn hard and sharp like steel.

Slowly, the monsters were wiped out till none of them were alive.

The young man out down his pistol and returned it back to his pistol. With a sigh, he fell to the floor with his butt first and leaned against the dusty walls of sand.

"I just wanted to grab some treasures here before I enter the Radiant Faction's territories but who would've thought that it would actually be ridden with monsters" he said.

The pistol glowed. The cat from before appeared and then landed on its four feet next to him.

"What do you expect from a small scale dungeon anwyay boss? Of course, it would be monsters!" it suddenly spoke as if it was a human.

The young man however was not surprised and instead grabbed the cat before he placed his hands upon its smooth head.

"Well, whatever. I did get quite a few treasures in this place. Some of them are mostly not sold outside so it's already worth it" he smiled and opened his inventory.

These two were Kian and his battle pet Xian. A month has passed since they left the academy and since Kian couldn't afford multiole teleportations tjrougout the continent, he could only resume most of his journey through travelling by land.

They passed through a lot of places and were now in the borders between the Radiant and Gloom Faction territories.

The place they were currently located was called Sunken Bazaar, a small scale dungeon. It was rumored to be a bustling bazaar once before it was struck by an earthquake and became a dungeon.

It was dangerous but countless players still visit it for the fortunes inside. Right now, his inventory was quite packed with some of those fortunes.

Items like the super rare Earthen Milk that could raise the strength stat or a Purple Gold Slab that could sell for a high price could be found inside.

"Anyway, what's should we do after this boss? Should we keep hunting? I think the next levels would be harder than before" Xian beside him was worried.

He just achieved the second phase so his effect as an attack amplifier still wasn't that effective. The dangers they encountered inside the dungeon were countless so he was quite worried if they advanced a bit more.

"Don't worry. We're already at level nineteen. After we finished conquering the twentieth, we'll quickly leave." he reasufed the little guy with a smile.

After they were done resting, they checked their things and then proceeded to the next level.

The twentieth level was quite darker than the other levels. The walls were also more compact and less old.

The two entered the place and for nearly theory minutes, they haven't encountered a single mosnter. Instead...

"What is this place?" Kian's face was pale as he run as fast as he could.

On top of his head, Xian was grabbing his already messy hair with tightly shut eyes.

Behind them, a gigantic rounded boulder was chasing after them. It was coated with a slimy liquid that melted the floor below. Kian couldn't help but shiver when he saw the thick floor melt whenever the boulder passed by.

There was no other way to avoid the traps around here but by going down the next level. He originally had no plans to proceed down but he had no other choice.

The bricks on the walls beside him suddenly opened like compartments. A bunch of metallic arrows quickly flew towards him at a speed the eye could not catch up to.

He fired a large Bullet I which then transformed into a rain of liquid metal that covered each of the arrows. They suddenly hardened and dragged down the arrows to the ground with their weight.

At the distance, Kian spotted a small stone door. It was engraved with the image of a mummy that had a crown on its head.

"A safe room!" he couldn't help but shout with glee.

Safe rooms were special in dungeons where you could rest free from dangers like monsters or traps.

At a breakneck speed, he dashed with all of his might and swiftly entered the room. What welcomed him was an empty room with but a single torch inside.

"Finally safe!" his breathing was ragged as he slouched his back, his hands on his knees.

However, he was not able to catch his breath properly when the whole room suddenly shook. The next thing he knew, the whole place was crumbling into pieces and he was now falling into a dark void.

And that's it for the prologue of the Volume 2: Dungeon City.

The next chapters would be uploaded maybe tomorrow or the next day. I think it would be better if I have like a few more chapters in stock before I upload since I'm gonna be busy next week for the exams. I don't think I can write at that time.

I also would like to thank all the readers who read this book and read up till now especially towards the flood voters. A lot of thanks too to those who added this book into their reading lists. Everyone, thanks for reading up till now!

That's all!
