12: Tough Battle

The battlefield was filled with screams and cries filled with battle spirit. The number of Excelcis was four times larger than the converted players. However, the crowd control skills from the normal players hindered their movements. This made the battle for the converted players a little bit easier.

Unlike the battle between the weaker players and Excelcises, their leaders' confrontation barely had any change.

Kian gritted his teeth from frustration. The combined atttcaks of his and Vanish barely did anything to the enemies.

It resulted in the battle descending from deciding supremacy to who could last long enough before the enemy exhausts their psyche energy which spelled trouble to the two of them. After all, they were not really Excelcis and their psyche energies were lower than them.

"Distract them!" He sId to Vanish as backed off a few meters away.

Vanish charged forward and continuously slashed with his sword. His attacks were hard to defend so the enemies got irritated and decided to launch their own attacks too.

Kian was finally able to find a chance to fire an effective attack.

A Phantom Bullet which was half-elemental and half-psyche energy travelled in the air. It ignored the barrier of an Excelcis leader and aimed straight to his head.

The Excelcis leader noticed the attack and moved sidewards to dodge. Unfortunately for him, the bullet still his face and attacked his mind. The pain brought by the attack distracted him.

Kian managed to take away the enemy's attention from vanish. While giving the enemy a cold look, he continously fired bullets making the enemy unable to go into the offensive.

Suddenly, a black haze covered the place and submerged the seven people who were fighting.

Kiam used Fade and disappeared from the enemy's detection.

This Excelcis leader turned cautious. He suddenly couldn't detect the weak human's presence. He backed away and shot his gaze a  multiple areas as he tried to locate Kian.

His eyes suddenly shot towards his back and aimed a bolt of psyche energy at the energy fluctuation that just appeared. When he did, the attack didn't land on anyone.

Just when he was occupied, an attack filled with concentrated psyche energy shot towards his head again.

This time, he was not able to evade. The attack passed through his skin and directly invaded his mind.

Kian, being a cautious person didn't just stop at this. He kept raining down attacks on the Excelcis leader till he died.

A red light shot out and entered Kian's eyebrows crystals. Their colors slowly started to change. The previous red mixed in blue now occupied half of the crystals. The black, silver, and blue portions were slightly pushed back.

He couldn't celebrate at the rise of his psyche energy because he still only took out one enemy.

A haze once again appeared but this time, it was multiple times larger. Only the human players were able to see in the haze. This took a great amount of burden from the players who were struggling just now.

Kian entered battle once again and fired bullets at the remaining enemy leaders. Now that one of the enemies were taken out, the pressure on them were lessened.

With Kian's unpredictable attacks, another leader was separated from the other three and was then taken out.

The battle with the other Excelcis were also going well. Since Kian and Vanish could now divide their attention. A lot of Excelcis sided and became supplements for the players to become stronger.

After they realized their dangerous situation, the remaining three leaders ordered them to retreat. However, would the players just easily let them leave?

"Kill as much enemies as you can!" Vanish commanded, his voice spreading across the battlefield.

The players raised a battle cry. Their morale were hugging.

A killing spree ensued. Psyche energy eye crystals could be seen flying out from the excelcis' bodies and entered the players who killed them. The previous mighty enemies were now fleeing to the horizon as fast as they could.

Of the three leaders, two of them managed to escape. However, Kian and Vanish were able to injure them although they took quite a bit of damage as well. As for the other leader, he fell into Vanish's hands.

Half an hour later the battleground was now void of any Excelcis race members.

The players cheered and raised their weapons. It was their first ever victory that was not an ambush. Thus, they couldn't help but be overjoyed. Although only slightly, they could finally see that ray of hope that they could win against the terrifying enemy known as the Excelcis race.

"Return to the camp and ready the grub. We're gonna stuff ourselves till we lose it tonight!" Vanish said, his teeth could be seen as he flashed a grin.

"Yeah!" cheers rang out from the crowd.

The players returned to the camp. Today was really a good day to celebrate.
