After hearing Kathrine's story, Elli had felt sick, but after seeing her happy manor and the spreading of Christmas spirit, her mind was able to let go of the conversation exploding in her head.
But as the day went on and the night neared, Elli couldn't help but ask a few questions.
'So, Kathrine...' She began.
Chris listened in to her question, having received a worried message from Isak Valtersen yesterday that expressed concern about some things Elli may not be telling anyone. He had been trying to find a way to ask her about said things but couldn't find a good way to do it, perhaps now, though, she would be open about it.
'Yes, Kathrine...' Asta replied, 'A sad story, really, but she loves Ada and honestly loves her life. I guess things can still work out wonderfully for even the darkest of pasts...'
'Yeah, I guess I'm proof of that,' Elli chuckled lightly before her face turned serious once more, 'It's disgusting though, what happened. You couldn't, or shouldn't, think otherwise...'
'No,' Chris agreed, 'But some people do think it's okay.' He prompted.
'Ja... My father thought it was okay.' She stated, Chris took a sharp breath.
'Ja?' He looked her in the eye, removing Runa and his mother from the conversation.
'Ja,' Elli spoke almost nonchalantly, 'Like, he thought women only existed for males. That they were obligated to do everything the said, and if they said sex, then sex. No matter what. He never pushed anything with my mother, I think that's why their marriage was so shitty because he felt she had too much power... I try not to think about it too much, you know, but I can't help but wonder had I stayed, would he have tried anything with me? Would he have tried to reclaim the power he had supposedly lost in his marriage? I mean I see people like Kathrine, people who's innocence has been stripped so horribly from them... It makes me seem lucky, in a way, that my father never showed he had any incestuous, disgusting motives when we were under the same roof.'
Chris let out a relieved sigh.
'It sucks that the world is how it is.' He replied shortly, before excusing himself to go text Isak. Elli could be lying, he thought, but that ramble was way to full of wisdom or whatever to be anything but the truth.

--

'Ellinor! Christoffer!' Asta's crisp exclamation rang through the apartment, 'Present time!'

--

'Now I had a limited budget, so don't expect too much...'
   'Of course not, Elli!'
'Okay, for Runa... A Pandora ring...'
'For Asta, a cooking book library, like you wanted...'
   'And for Chris, Tommy Hilfiger.'
   ''Limited budget' my ass...'
   'Christoffer!'
   'Okay my turn!'
'Jesus Runa, let us have a little time in between gifts!'
'Nei, I'm impatient... Okay, for Mum- limited edition Guess bracelet... For Christoffer, a bunch of those Calvin Klein's you're obsessed with... And for Elli, a Swarovski phone case.'
   'You didn't...'
'It's only a phone case, Elli. Don't be silly.'
'Well now I have to go!'
'Me too. We're in on gifts together, Mum and I.'
'Ja Christoffer... Okay, to start with; Runa, the Louis Vuitton handbag you've been drooling over for about a thousand years. Then Christoffer and I both treated ourselves to new phones... And treated Elli to one as well...'
'Nei! Nei, nei. This is too much! Asta, Christoffer! This is a top quality phone! It's not your job to put for this sorta stuff!
   'Whoops!'

--

Elli was lying on Chris' bed whilst he rummaged through his closet.
'I still can't believe you guys got me and iPhone 6...' She muttered, logging into her social media accounts.
'I was sick of being your messenger.' Chris called sarcastically, his voice growing closer as he re-entered the room with a small package in hand.
'What's that?' Elli asked, sitting up. Chris handed her the package.
'A Christmas present. A special one, from me.' He said, gesturing for her to open it.
'Oh my god...' She whispered as the packaging revealed a Tiffany pendant, 'Chris! This is almost three thousand Kroner!'
   'You deserve it.'
   'I'm not that special!'
   Chris' thoughts said otherwise.
