Not So Bad After All
Book One
Chapter Nineteen
Jayden's Pov
_________________"Well, I've dec-" My father suddenly stopped talking as I entered the house.
He was sitting in his usual spot, his chair which no one was allowed to sit in and his tablet sat on his lap. My mother was sitting on the couch with her feet up and a drink in her hand. The look on her face was the usual miserable one she wore. It aged her.
I must've interrupted an important conversation. It's probably about me. "I'm interrupting something?"
"We were just talking about-"
"That's none of his business," He all but hissed at her.
"Bet it was about me right?" I asked. "You just can't stand my fucking existence."
"Watch your mouth boy," He hissed at me. "This is my house and you will respect me."
"Fuck your house. You know what? You're not even worth it," I shook my head at him.
"Guys please, not to-"
"This is exactly why you're staying here. Disrespectful, good for nothing, brainless jock," He cut my mother off again and spat at me.
I was used to the insults. That was a normal conversation for us, but I am confused about one thing he said. "Staying where? What is he talking about?" I asked my mother.
The longer she didn't answer me, the more pissed off I got. She's so fucking weak! For the love of God, stand up for yourself! Stand up for me!
"Mom!" I yelled, seething now.
"We're leaving," She answered startled.
"Where are you going?"
"To your sister's house for Thanksgiving," She explained.
"That's right and your not coming. This is an occasion for family... If you came, you'd ruin it with your nasty attitude and nack for starting fights," He told me.
"Am I supposed to be offended? When was the last time we actually spent a holiday with each other anyway? I'm sorry, I can't seem to remember! Go! I don't give a fuck! Joann is just gonna be an annoying brat and ask you for money and Brett is just gonna kiss your ass the whole time, Mom will be drunk before you have dinner and probably won't remember a damn thing, and you, dad... You just want everybody to bow down to your bitch ass!" I yelled, overwhelmed with anger.
My father jumped up out of his chair and shoved me into the wall, throwing a punch at my face and connecting.
"Stop it! I said stop it!" My mother screamed at us as she jumped up from the couch.
"Come on! Use those muscles!" He yelled in my face. "Your not a little boy now! Fight back!"
I shoved him and he fell back into the glass coffee table, shattering it. As much as I hate this man it was nearly impossible for me to fight back. He's my father... But a person can only be pushed so far. I stood over him and glared.
"You're stupid! You are both so stupid! I'm sick of this shit!" Mom cried.
My father got to his feet and started shoving me again. "Go, get the fuck out!" He shoved me out the door. "And don't fucking come back! You are not welcomed in this fucking house, you hear me? You come back here and I'll put a bullet in your ass!"
He tried to slam the brand new door in my face but I fought against it. When it finally did shut in my face, I punched it until my fists were bloody. I kicked it over and over again, until half the door was off it's hinges. I Picked up one of my mother's potted plants and chucked it through one of the big bay windows. Then I threw another one, and another one...
