"Can you believe it's been a whole month since prom?" Rose asked me as she scrolled through pictures on her phone.

"No, I can't," I shook my head. "Where the time go?"

She sighed. "Time is just going by so fast..."

"That's right. And in just a few short months we'll be married" I kissed her forehead.

We wanted to get married sometime in September. I made it known that we could wait a year or two, that we didn't have to marry right away... but she wanted to and the soon I can call her my wife the better. I wanted to move at a pace that was comfortable for her.

"You don't think we're rushing into it?" She asked me sheepishly. "I don't want you to feel pressured or anything."

"In case you forgot babe, I asked you to marry me. If anything, I don't want you to feel pressured" I sat down in front of her on the coffee table, "Are you feeling pressured? We don't have to-"

She cut me off, "No, babe, no. I'm not feeling pressured." She assured me, "I just wanna make sure that on our wedding day you don't get cold feet and leave me"

"You gotta stop watching those drama movies on Netflix" I laughed. "If I had it my way, we'd be getting married today"

"Let's graduate first," she laughed and squeezed my hand.

"Speaking of that. We're gonna be late, let's go" I kissed her forehead.

🌹ROSE POV🌹

Graduation was everything I imagined it'd be. Honestly it was so great to see everyone tgat I grew up with walk across the stage. We've all matured so much.

I was more excited and proud to see Jay walk across the stage and get his diploma. When we were first paired together he expressed to me that he feared he wouldn't graduate or get into the college that he wanted to go to, which is Florida state university.

His father wanted him to go to Yale like he did and like his siblings. Jay even got accepted into Yale, but he refuses to go.

I always made sure that he studied hard from the very beginning and his grades had gotten a ton better. But unfortunately Jay didn't get accepted into Florida State university...

Which confused me because how did he manage to get accepted into Yale, but not Florida State university? That didn't make any sense to me. Jay claimed he was fine with not getting accepted but he clearly wasn't. I can always tell when something is bothering him.

I got accepted into NYU though so we both decided that we'd go to NYU together instead. Well, I didn't decide that, Jayden did.

"I'm so proud of youuuu!!" Mom came over and smothered us with hugs.

"Thanks ma" I happily hugged her back.

"Thank you" Jayden hugged her also.

I noticed that he's been in his own world today. Id catch him just staring into space, lost in his own thoughts. I think he's a little sad that his mom isn't here. She contacted him, explaining that she wanted to come but she couldn't because of Dick. It seems like Dick's abusive behavior has only gotten worse since we last visited her. From what Jay told me, his mom was now getting beat by Dick, almost everyday.

He feared for her but knew that there's nothing he can do for her. He was more upset with her than anything. Jay would always say that not having her in his life at all was better than her only being in his life sometimes.
