"Okay so, I have this really cool idea," Rose announced as she sat down next to me in class.

"What is it?" I asked.

"So Jayden's birthday is in a few days. I was thinking we can throw a party for him."

I nodded. "That sounds like fun."

"Yeah, it'll be a surprise. No one's ever done anything like this for him," She smiled. "So here's what I have in mind... My mom and I can buy the cake and you and I can decorate."

"Sounds good. But where is all of this gonna be?"

"Do you remember the last party Jay through? The one I actually went to?"

"Oh you mean the one when you and Jayden practically had sex on the dance floor?" I teased.

"Sky!" Rose slapped my arm. "We were dancing! That's it..."

"If you say so," I shrugged. "But by the way he was holding onto you and touching your ass, anybody with eyes could see that he wanted to you, and you clearly wanted him too. You were really enjoying yourself. That's why everybody thinks you guys are fuck buddies."

She shook her head, "You know it's not even like that between me and him. We're just... Friends."

She said that like I don't know when she's lying...

"All I know is what I see and what I see is, you and him not trying to rip each others heads off all the time. I know that despite the things you guys used to say and do to each other, your like best friends now. And I know considering what you've been through with Ryan, you trust Jayden and he makes you happy. I don't care what title you put on it. You're happy with him and that's all that matters..."

Rose sighed. "You make it seem like he and I are engaged or something."

"You never know what can happen," I smiled at her.

She just shook her head at me trying to suppress her smile. "How about you, though? Are you okay?"

She already knew my answer, she just wanted to hear me say it. To admit it to myself.

"No... He still won't talk to me," I stared down at my hands. I felt my eyes begin to water. "I'm lonely again."

"I'm so sorry," She hugged me tightly. "I've been such a shitty friend. I haven't been there for you..."

"You're not a shitty friend," I pulled away to look at her. "We both have our own lives. We both work pretty much everyday and have people that we're interested in. It's understandable."

"That's no excuse. I should be there for you and I promise I will be from now on. How about we take off work today and go get our nails done and see a movie or something?"

"I can't afford to call off. How about this weekend though?" I wiped my wet face.

"Even better," She smiled.

I told Brandon all about the kiss between me and Jason. He obviously wasn't happy about it. Brandon is a calm person, very passive... So when he blew up on me about this whole thing, I was certainly shocked but I understood. I hurt him and I felt the impact of that.

I know I did the right thing by telling him about it instead of hiding it, but now he won't even talk to me. He completely avoids me.

I turned the one guy down that I've wanted since forever... for the guy that I want now... and now he doesn't want me anymore...

I really have a bad habit of screwing things up for myself.

On our way to lunch, Rose stopped me at our locker and continued to talk about some book she was reading.

I love her but, I honestly wasn't listening. I'm hungry... And when I'm hungry I'm no good to anyone.

"Okay Rose, I love you but I'm starving. Tell me more after I get some food in my system."

As I turned around, Brandon and Jayden just rounded the corner and were standing right in front of Rose and me.

Brandon and I both glared at them. Immediately understanding that they set us up... And at the worst possible time too. I'm starving! Though I'm happy to se Brandon's face.

"Oh, hey Jay. Wanna get something to eat?" Rose awkwardly said.

"That's a great idea Rose. Let's do that... Right now," Jayden grabbed Rose's hand and said to Brandon and I, "We'll save you guys a seat." Then they ran off, hand in hand, to the cafeteria.

A moment or two of awkwardly avoiding eye contact passed before our eyes finally met.

"They set us up..." Brandon pointed out.

"Yeah... I feel like one of us is gonna erupt in song any moment now," I joked.

He laughed and shook his head at me. My heart ached because I loved the sound of his laugh and I miss it so much. "I've missed you."

I arched a brow at him, "Really?"

"Yeah..." He nodded.

"I missed you too..." I sighed feeling relieved to finally be able to tell him that. "Can we get past this?"

"I don't know... You tell me." He shrugged. "Are you over Jason?"

"It was over before it started." That was the sad truth.

I wanted to be with Jason soooo bad! I forced myself on him for so many years... But he only wanted me when he was bored. Like I said before, I was his plaything that he just picked up when he was bored. It was over before it even started... And I know now that I deserve so much better than that. I won't be anyone's last resort.

"I don't know, Sky..." He shook his head. "I need to know that you're really over this guy... That you're not gonna melt, and make out with him every time you see him and he says something sweet to you. I know we haven't been together for long but if you can't even be loyal to me to me now... Then there's no need for us to even continue this."

"I'm over him, Brandon... I want you," I assured him.

He was quiet for a moment, I guess thinking it over. A small smile then appeared on his face and he grabbed my hand.

I smiled and hugged him. I kissed him with everything I have, "Thank you." I planted another on his lips. "Can we eat now?"

He laughed at me and nodded. "Let's go get a burger from Burger King."

"Ugh! Yes! You know me so well. I'm gonna marry you one day. Let's go."

I dragged him out of the school's front doors, excited that I got my man back!

And also excited for the food!

No seriously, my mouth is watering for that burger...
