Carrie was only a week into her senior year and she was already stressed. She had three tests next week and she would most likely spend her entire weekend studying. Closing her car door and walking inside, she cussed to herself as she hit her elbow off the door. "Damn it!"

She made her way over to the counter, peering around the young man with his back to her, looking for the owner Dorothy, who normally took orders. He tossed his smoothie in the trash, nearly missing. "How can I help-" he started to ask.

Carrie smiled at his loss for words. "Well?"

"Sorry," he stammered. "I'm Harrison, what can I get you?"

"I can read," she said, giggling a little as he tilted his head, not getting what she meant. But then he looked down at his name tag, his face getting even redder. "I'll take a strawberry smoothie please. Oh and extra strawberry."

"Just a moment," he said, turning around.

Carrie went and sat down by the counter as he worked on the smoothie. She used those couple minutes to study him. He looked very familiar, and Carrie concluded that he went to the same school as her. How did I not notice him? she asked herself.

Harrison turned back towards her, now mashing the strawberries in. He was very, very attractive. His brown hair was parted to the left side and he had a really cute scar on his chin. Her stare was interrupted as he looked up and smiled at her. Carrie bit her lip with a smile before he looked away again.

From behind Harrison, she saw the owner, Dorothy approach. "Hello Carrie."

"Hello Mrs. Ford. How's business today?"

"Not as busy today with all you teenagers back in school."

She laughed. "Is this your son?"

"Yes, that's my oldest Harrison," Dorothy answered.

Harrison plopped the smoothie down in front of her as Dorothy went to take orders at the drive through window. "Here," she said, handing him the money.

"Don't its on the house."

"Why? Please take it," she pleaded.

"I don't want it. It's on the house."

Carrie glared at him, before throwing her car keys on the counter and taking a sip of the smoothie. "Is that a classic mustang?" asked.

She was surprised at the question. "Yeah, it's the red one," she said, pointing behind her.

Harrison nodded, sitting in front of her. He asked her several questions, such as what she wanted to do after high school. Carrie said she was probably going to stay around Dallas for post secondary education. Then after she got her bachelor's degree, she would do online classes to receive her masters, and then doctorate.

Carrie asked him what he would like to do after high school and he said he was going right into the NFL. "I'd better get going," she said, getting up. "Thank you Harrison."

She smiled before turning away. "Hey, Carrie," he said as she reached the door.

"Would you like to get something to eat sometime?"

"I'd love to."

The next day, Carrie got another smoothie at the exact same time when she knew he worked. They decided to go to dinner on Sunday night at his favorite restaurant. And as Carrie sat, watching him make another smoothie, she realized she was falling more and more in love with him...

For those of you who've read my other book, this paralleled the flashback in chapter 3 when Harrison and Carrie met. Except this time, it was from Carrie's point of view.
