They were almost to the hospital when Carrie felt his fingers curl around hers. "Harrison!"

"Carrie," he whispered turning his head to look at her and attempting a smile. "I'm okay sweetheart."

Based on his current condition, Carrie wasn't so sure about that statement. But at least he was awake. Squeezing his hand, she reassured him, "it's going to be okay."

He tried to smile again, his lips only curving a little bit. "Come here."

Carrie leaned over him, about to kiss him before a paramedic stopped her. But when she glared at him, he let her go. She kissed Harrison passionately. The kiss lasted a while before she finally pulled away. "You're going to be okay," she said again before kissing his cheek.

As she stood next to him, he slowly moved his left arm around her back. Harrison tried to move his other arm as well, but ended up crying out in pain. "Take it easy. I'm here," she whispered. "Now tell me, what hurts?"

He swallowed. "My head. Agh, my right arm and my chest."

"Okay." Looking out the windshield of the ambulance, she told him, "we're almost there."

When they got to the hospital, the doctors wheeled Harrison away for testing while Carrie paced the waiting room, waiting for results. While pacing, Carrie prayed there was nothing seriously wrong, and that it was something he could easily recover from.

"Miss Fisher?"

Carrie turned, seeing one of his nurses. "Yes?"

"He's finished with all the tests. Would you like to see him?"

She nodded, following the nurse to his room. Carrie was allowed in, making her way to his bedside as the nurse followed. He was asleep, and there was a cut just above his eyebrow that she hadn't noticed before.

Pulling a chair up, she sat by his side. "Miss Fisher, all the test results have come in."

Carrie nodded, holding Harrison's hand as the nurse continued. "He has three broken ribs on his right side, as well as a broken collarbone. He is recommended for surgery."

She held her head in her hands. "The clavicle on his right side has broken off enough that it would not heal properly. About 1.7 cm to be exact. Miss Fisher?"

Carrie looked up, shaking her head in disbelief that he would need surgery. "With this surgery, we would move the clavicle back into place using a screw. There would be no permanent plates or screws inserted. Shall I have the 'OR' prepared?"

"Yes."

"And before he goes into surgery, I'd like to run a concussion test is that's alright."

"Please do."

After the nurse left, she tapped his hand. "Harrison."

He blinked a few times before turning his head to look at her. His small smile faded away as he saw her face. She looked distressed. Squeezing her hand, he asked, "what's wrong?"

"You have 3 broken ribs, a broken collarbone, and possibly a concussion. It's recommended you have surgery to repair the collarbone. They're prepping right now."
