Harrison and Carrie were having a very rough night. After bringing him home from the hospital this evening, he wasn't doing so well.

Harrison was sweating a lot. She'd helped him take off his shirt, and even change into shorts, but nothing seemed to be helping. "Carrie."

"Yeah?"

He didn't even open his eyes. "Medicine," he mumbled, turning his head to the side.

She stroked his forehead gently. Harrison couldn't have medicine now. He was on an 8 hour schedule and he had taken painkiller before he went to bed. "It's only been 5 hours babe."

He groaned, rolling his head to the other side. Carrie reached behind her, grabbing the wet rag she kept on her nightstand. Moving closer to him, she pressed the rag to his forehead, holding it for a few minutes.

"Carrie?"

"Yeah Harry?"

"Water... please."

On her nightstand sat a glass of water as well. She put a hand behind his head, propping him up a bit before holding the glass as he took a sip of water.

As he drank the water, Carrie felt his forehead. He was burning up. "Harry I think you might have a fever."

He gulped, trying to say something, but had to lick his parched lips. "Carrie."

She got up, waking downstairs to get the thermometer. Chance jumped off his spot on the couch, following Carrie back up the stairs. Opening their door again, she closed it before Chance could run in. She didn't need him crawling all over Harrison.

Coming back to bed, Carrie crawled under the covers next to him. When he opened his mouth to moan her name again, she used that opportunity to stick the thermometer under his tongue.

He had a fever of 101. "Oh Harrison, what are we going to do with you?"

He smiled as she pressed the rag to his forehead again. After holding it for a few minutes, Carrie felt him again. He was still sweating.

Outside the door, Chance began to cry. Harrison looked at the door before closing his eyes again. Chance's crying became louder, even keeping Carrie from falling asleep.

Slowly, she got out of bed, opening the door for her dog. Carrie tried to grab Chance's collar, but he ran over to Harrison's side of the bed, jumping up.

"Chance! Enough!" This was exactly why she didn't let him inside in the first place.

Chance ignored her, licking Harrison's face before pushing his hand up with his head enough for Harrison to rest his arm on him. Chance laid next to Harrison, closing his eyes.

With his right arm, Harrison gently pet Chance, carefully not to move his shoulder too much. He whispered her name again, begging for more medicine. She sighed, going in the bathroom and grabbing more medicine.

Laying next to Harrison again, she helped him swallow the pill. "Thanks."

"How are you feeling?"

"A little better sweetheart."

She nodded, putting the glass of water back on her nightstand. "Harry you're still sweating," she tried to say as he put his good arm around her back, pulling her to his chest. "And you're hurt."

As Carrie rested her head on his shoulder, he reassured her, "it doesn't hurt, I promise."

Harrison drew patterns on her back with his fingertips while she rested her head on his good shoulder. Placing her hand on his chest, she felt the beads of sweat under her fingers. Carrie was about to say something else, but he cut her off. "I'm fine sweetheart."

She rolled her eyes, even crossing one of her legs over his. Carrie kissed his neck before whispering, "I love you Harry."

"I love you too," he answered. "And I'm okay."

The next morning Carrie woke up, surprised to see him asleep. After she'd fallen asleep, he only woke her up twice after that, wanting water. Both of them must've hit their breaking point, for they both fell asleep. She remembered it was 3:30 in the morning the last time she was up.

Chance still lay on Harrison's injured side, his arm still resting on the dogs back. "Well don't you have it good?" She asked her dog, getting out of bed.

Looking at the time, Carrie grimaced at the numbers 12:00 on the clock. "Come on buddy, I'm sure you're hungry."

Chance slowly moved out from under Harrison's arm, careful not to hurt him. She smiled, seeing her dog taking great care in getting out from under Harrison's arm. It was almost like he could sense there was something wrong, since usually he was jumping on the two of them, trying to force Harrison to move enough so he could get the spot next to Carrie.

He licked Harrison's hand, before joining Carrie at the door. She led him downstairs, grabbing his giant food bowl off the floor and filling it as fast as she could. Setting it back down, Chance couldn't start eating fast enough. Carrie filled up his water dish as well, before making lunch.

They slept right through breakfast, so for lunch, Carrie made Harrison's favorite tossed salad, topped with Italian dressing and a few of his favorite vegetables. Last night, he told her he wanted to walk today.

She ran up the steps, seeing him wrap the support band around his ribs. Coming into their bedroom, she gave him more medicine for his shoulder before helping him with his sling.

It seemed to Carrie that the broken collarbone was the most painful for him. He'd grimace just from moving his arm a bit. She tightened his sling before helping him stand up. Then Carrie ducked as he swung his good arm around her neck for support.

The two of them made it to the bottom of the stairs, greeted by Chance. "Hey buddy," he whispered, removing his arm from around her neck to pet Chance. "Who's a good boy?"

Chance barked, before dropping the tennis ball he had in his mouth at Harrison's feet. Carrie picked it up for him as he threw it across the house with his good arm. "Easy, you have a long road to recovery."

He wrapped his good arm around her waist, kissing her gently.

Kind of totally random, but does anyone have any ideas where Harrison and Carrie should take their honeymoon? It's a long way from this point in the story but I just started writing the wedding chapter and the honeymoon is going to follow it. Let me know!
