This is a story set in the present. Our heroine is the princess of Japan, the country's hope. Her name is Shinozaki Sakura. Her long hair is as brown as chocolate, her azure eyes sparkle in the sunlight, like beautiful gems. Elegant, graceful, and kind, it is said by the royals of the other countries, 'She is going to be a great queen for Japan.'

Shinozaki Jun, the king of japan, would agree to their statement. After all, he is the proud father of a brilliant and talented child. He truly loves his daughter even if she hadn't nurtured her talents. To Jun, Sakura is the only family that's alive and he would do anything to keep her safe. He didn't want the repeat of incidents happening again...

Although the girl was content with her life, she did wish for one thing. The world she knew was only in the walls of the castle. Although she had learned about the world and met people from different parts of it, she wished to see the world that's beyond the castle. That was her only wish ever since she was a child.

'Even if it's just for a little while... I just want to see what's outside the castle. Just bit of it is enough to make me happy.'

Just like any other day, she was dreaming about the world outside the castle. The door to her bedroom slowly opened to reveal her personal maid. She peeked her head over to the bed and saw the girl's peaceful smile adorn on her face, the lady couldn't help but to smile in satisfaction. 'Mistress must be having a peaceful dream...' She thought to herself as she entered the big room.

"It's time to get up, Mistress. Rise and shine!" The maid cheerfully said as she made her way to the window, opening the curtains to let the sunlight enter the room. A few rays hit the princess's face as she slowly opened her eyes, her beautiful orbs glistening in the light. She looked at the smiling maid in front of her. "Good morning, Sakura. Did you have a wonderful dream?"

"Yes, even though its the same dream I see..." The girl let out a little yawn before getting up, rubbing her eyes to remove the drowsiness. She faced the lady with a gentle smile, "Good morning, Yumiko-san." Yumiko couldn't help but to smile even more. She was always by the princess's side when she was a baby, so she would treat Sakura like she was her very own child.

"Better get ready soon. Don't want to keep his Highness waiting." The girl sets her bare feet on the ground after getting off the bed. She replied with an 'okay' and heads to the bathroom. As usual, the bath was ready and it was just the way she liked it.

After drying her body, she puts on the dress prepared in her closet along with the pair of heels. Yumiko brushes the princess's hair before placing a hairpin on the side. The hairpin was simple really, it was a baby pink cherry blossom flower with some magenta petals behind, two strings of three violet beads hangs with the flower to complete it. The hairpin did suit the princess perfectly, but it was always hidden by the tiara she must wear everyday.

"Thank you, Yumiko-san." Sakura thanked the woman before putting on a simple pair of pearl earrings. When it came to makeup and accessories, the princess did not go overboard with them like any princess would. She didn't need any makeup since her skin was flawless and soft, she would apply a coat of clear lip-gloss to make her rosy lips shine. She did not like the heavy accessories weighing her down, so she wears a simple heart-shaped necklace and a pair of small-studded earrings.

Sakura doesn't take much time to get ready, she walks to the dinning room with Yumiko by her side. On the way, the maids and butlers passing by would greet the princess with a gentle smile. The princess knows each and very one of their names, she greets them with respect and bows at them before continuing her way. Even though her status was higher than the people working in the castle, she still considered them elderly to her and respected them. 'What a nice princess. May she live a long life.' They blessed the princess after she greets them and walks away.
