Chapter 35: Roadie For A Day

If you don't follow me, you probably aren't aware that there are very few chapters left for Anna and Maks. Yes, it's sad, but Mon Amour is coming to an end. If you haven't already, follow me to stay updated on this book and other's I write in the future.

Chapter 35: Roadie For A Day

"I said pack a small bag, Anna. What's in that?" Maksim asked bewildered. He was waiting by the car when Anna came out of the house carrying a bag bigger than she is.

"You didn't tell me what we were doing or where we were going, so I packed for everything." She answered with a shrug.

"Yeah and I watched her do it. I can tell you, it's mostly snacks." Nik added.

"It isn't!" Anna insisted eyeing both men, daring them to disagree. "Perhaps a large third of it, but not most."

"Put it anyway you like, Anna, but the majority of your bag is filled with snack cakes." he accused.

"No, Nik, it isn't!" She yelled, matching his level of intensity.

Maksim decided only this pair could fight over something of such little importance. He didn't blame Anna for it as much as he did Nik. Anna wasn't the one who knew that a vengeful woman was on the loose looking for her friend.

"Then open your bag and prove it, Little Debbie!" Nik countered, with a knowing smirk.

"I don't have to prove anything to you."

"Because you know what we'll find." The Beta laughed, as he turned to Maksim. "I'm telling you, there is a small bakery in there."

"Forget I asked what was in the bag. Please, for the love of everything that is good." Maksim begged. "Anna, please get in the car so we can leave. The farther we get away from Niklaus, the better."

"At the moment, I would agree."

Both men watched as she strutted to the other side of the car, with her nose in the air, and got in.

Before Maksim did the same, he turned to Nik.

"Keep me updated."

The drive out of the territory took all of 15 minutes and Maksim seemed to visibly relax once they passed through the gates. They were now well on there way to whatever destination he chose.

Anna was excited to find out what he was doing. It was out of character for Maks to decide to take time off, even if there wasn't much he needed to do.

Also, she knew Maksim decided to leave at the last minute. Because of that, she didn't expect to do anything extravagant today. Perhaps they were just going to lunch outside the territory.

If so, that was fine with her. She would take all the time she could get with Maksim. It was true that the couple didn't get much of it at home. Every time they would truly talk, something or someone would get in their way, this morning included.

Anna didn't let herself get too frustrated. Maskim was the alpha and of course, he would be needed. Besides, they had forever to get to know each other.
