Madara remained true to his word. The next day we had planned to go to the market together to buy fresh ingredients. People continued to bow in our presence, mostly because of Madara. The man himself wore his stoic facade and acted as if he didn't even notice them.
I tried reprimanding him, but he merely shrugged me off. I sighed silently. 'Well it'll take time to make him a peoples person.'
"Lady Mikubae, here's your vegetables!"
"Ah thank you!"
"Lady Mikubae would like to try some samples?"
"Aha! Don't mind if I do!"
"Lady Mikubae take some fresh strawberries home too!"
I took all the gifts gratefully. I waved at the venders with a closed eye smile. "You're quite popular." I paused to look at Madara. "Mhm...I guess. But I'm not as popular as Hashirama-nii. You're pretty popular yourself Madara-chan." I looked to the far left to gaze at the love struck women. He gave a blunt grunt of disregard.
"A bunch of kunoichi who do nothing but waste their time flaunting themselves." I turned to the man with a dead panned look. "This is why you're so lonely."
"Tch. I have more important thing to worry about then loneliness." I rolled my eyes. "Well Mr. Antisocial, is there something specific you want for dinner?"
His charcoal eyes roamed over the several lined up venders. He looked disinterested in everything. "Stir fry, baked, steamed, sautéed..." I listed different cooking methods to hopefully get his gears moving. "I don't really care," he finally replied," everything you make is good." I was severely flattered. Madara never complimented my meals after eating them so getting a praise like that really made me feel happy.
