"Oi, brat! Leave me in peace already! Your muttering is annoying!" Poor Kurama had been awakened from his deep slumber by an antsy Mikubae. For two days in a row, since their introduction, she had unfortunately kept her word and visited him. She met with all the other tailed beasts and spent individual time with each of them, but she was weirdly attracted to Kurama.

The girl would spend hours talking the poor fox's ears off. Today's topic was the same as yesterday's. Some man named Madara had messed with her heart and now she couldn't focus on anything.

She had to take a break from the hospital due to her continuously spacing out. Since all her other counselors were getting ready for tomorrow and Mikubae was too embarrassed to carelessly walk around the village, she decided to rely on her dear friend Kurama.

She would pace back and forth outside the red bars of his cage while muttering something incomprehensible. A dark cloud followed her in every direction. Kurama tried zoning her out, but she still managed to get through.

"I swear!!! I will seriously destroy you! How can one human be so irritating?! Leave already!" Mikubae looked up at the creature with a pouty expression. "But we had a deal~! I would keep coming until you ate me so you had a chance!"

"I don't need your pity! Leave me the hell alone!"

"What should I do, Kura-chan? What if I misread something?! What if Madara changes his mind?!"

"DON'T CHANGE THE SUBJECT!"

Mikubae brushed off his demands and sat down next to his cage, leaning against it for support. She released a heavy breath. She pulled out her special pin and held it in front of her. Her face became saddened.

"...What if...something goes wrong? People who say they love me...usually end up dying. What if there's someone better for him?" Kurama sensed a change in her normal, obnoxious behavior. From his darkness, he could see the side of her face. Her melancholy expression reflected in his big, beady red eyes. A single, glistening tear is what pulled a chord within him. A chord he had thought snapped a long time ago.
