Nothing was the same after Madara had disappeared - with his terrible history and him being him, any good outcomes of his defection weren't expected. But there was more to it than that. Changes had been made. Shinji was forced to take on the role of the Uchiha Clan's leader in Madara's absence and worked day and night to calm the nerves of the other village leaders.

The Uchiha Clan started to realize Madara's truth shortly after his leaving. Many were quick to assume that the whole thing was a cleverly put together plan by the entire clan to get even with Hashirama who announced that Tobirama would be his successor. The tension between clan and village was growing. Luckily Hashirama was peace-loving and did whatever he could to help Shinji fix the relationship.

The cherry on the cake, however, was after Madara had been gone for 3 months and Mikubae could no longer keep the secret. There was no questioning as to whose child it was - another part of their devious plan; an heir to finish the job if Madara didn't do it first. The Senju Princess had been practically adopted by the Uchiha Clan after receiving so much backlash from her own family.

Tobirama never saw his sister after their talk on the bridge. Hashirama was the only one from the Main Household to fight on her behalf. Of course, there were many Senjus who defended their Princess, but Mikubae simply told the Clan Elders with the sweetest smile on her face," If my child being here will cause dissension then I will take my leave. However, I hope that once you've all come to your sense...that you will see the ridiculousness in your cowardliness."

Ever since then, she's been living at the Uchiha Main Household 24/7 with Shinji. The looks in the eyes of villagers were different, Mikubae noted - more cold, wary, untrusting, unsure. They looked at her like she was marked with the brand of a beast. Hated, detested, disgusting.

By the fourth month, people started to grow cruel. Sometimes she'd waken to threats painted in the courtyard or a dead animal stringed in front of her room. By the fifth month, she was publicly persecuted by small minded people who took their frustrations and anxieties out on her.

She once returned to the household from shopping completely soaked through. Her hair was sticky with some honey like substance while her body reeked of dead fish. It took a while to get the stench out of her skin. Shinji was more than infuriated and so were the rest of the Uchiha Clan. How quick were people to turn on their own?
